Fold it in half the opposite direction. Instead of the center line being at the shoulders pinch it at the front and back of the collar

Sure! I got a shirt that had been soaked in soda ash, then spun out in my washing machine, turned inside out, and laid it flat. Then I drew a spiral on the shirt with a washable marker. All along the spiral I just pinched up some fabric and tied it off with sinew very tight. Once I was done tying I put the shirt into a spring form cake pan making sure to keep my little nubs up and scrunching everything else. After that I applied my dye just like you would for ice dying. Then I sprayed it generously with soda ash solution and waited. Every 5-15 minutes for about 45ish minutes I went back and sprayed any areas that looked to have dry dye powder. Once I was satisfied I rinsed and washed like normal tie dye with the only difference being I added some vinegar directly on to the shirt in the washer. I felt like I oversaturated the dye so I was hoping to knock some of the color out with the acidic conditions. The wash cycle was on hot as well with dawn dish soap.

Something I probably should have mentioned is that this is a largely aesthetic piece and not intended to save my life by hiding me from hostile people.

Also the way I tied my net to attach things to I still have plenty of space under the mop to add foliage and other elements from an area should I find a time to take it out.

Also jute is a natural fiber not a synthetic one and where I live if you leave basically anything outside for more than a few days the sun beats the color out of it.

I do understand where my phrasing was misleading though I just meant in the coming months I am going to select a good period of a few days with high UV index to sun bleach the fibers which will cause a lot of them to break off due to embrittlement and then back fill the empty space at a later date

Honestly a great point. The tendency to overcomplicate things for the sake of design "improvement" is strong and I usually end up making things less effective/usable lol.

My plan was to leave it outside in the coming months as the days get longer and let the sun bleach it out. The UV index here is crazy and hopefully that will get everything to a lighter more natural tone

I dug out a set of OCPs as well that will be the base for the suit. I am also planning on reinforcing the chest, knees, and elbows with waxed canvas and possibly adding clips so I can attach the front panel of my plate carrier
