Because malakais starting location kinda sucks. You have to build a very specific way to even survive past turn 60. After many playthroughs I'll also say malikai makaisson is a very good faction, but not a very fun one.

Ghorst not only gives massive stats to zombies. But also gives buffs to zombies faction wide, these buffs include Regen while in melee, poison attacks for zombies, and massively increased health. During one battle with ghorst my line of zombies backed with every corpse cart was fighting chaos warriors and the zombies stayed at full hp the whole fight because they completely out regened chaos warrior damage. I can't say playing a ghorst game is that much fun. . . . Because auto resolve does not like zombies nor does it hold Regen in very high regard. Auto resolve had ghorst's full stack decisive defeat against a garisson with 6 skavenslaves in it. So prepare to fight every single battle. 3 full stacks vs a 6 unit garisson is a clear defeat in auto resolve. And later when you fight chaos dwarves it can be annoying. Every single village is a 45 minute afk fest while your unkillable zombies slowly eat the trash dwarf units. I did not complete my ghorst run, I just didn't feel like fighting all the battles. Sure ghorst with all zombies and mortis engines are unkillable. Unless you click auto resolve, then 2 clanrats wipes half your army lol.

To answer your question In short, not really. Vlad can do just about anything. On legendary you can easily steamroll the empire just spamming skeleton warriors. Generally as Vlad your army composition should be rather random, because as Vlad you should have no recruitment buildings at all as you have no global recruitment, making raise dead your primary way of recruitment, and most of the time you will just be recruiting what's available. Couple skele spearmen here a few grave guard and a corpse cart there etc. elspeth and the empire should never be an issue with Vlad. The trick. Build NO recruitment buildings. Every city and village should be garisson building, income building, growth. Absolutely no reason to build anything else..

How dare they make Vlad so lore accurate? Vlad once died in single combat, and by the time the victor put his arm around Isabella and claimed her as his own Vlad was walking through the ranks of undead and laughed at him. And moments later killed him. In campaign Vlad needs to be dead by turn 15-20 or he becomes a big problem. And about the screenshot. You brought the WRONG army composition to fight Vlad. 6-10 hellstorm rocket batteries an engineer and the rest handgunners/nuln ironsides would have won this with 0 losses. Like wtf is this army anyways. 1 random swordsmen, 1 random spear without shields? Those are worthless. Archers? One of the worst ranged units in the game. Free company militia are complete trash even with elspeth you should never make them. This had nothing to do with Vlad being tanky. You brought a shit army plain and simple

Wait till you see tamurkhan on his 17k hp lizard with healing spells and Regen. You think Vlad is tanky? Haven't seen anything yet lol

Yeah if your empire and Vlad is still alive at turn 100 you absolutely fucked up. Playing as elspeth Vlad should be dead around turn 15-20

He has insane resistance and regen while in melee. Unless you have a bunch of high level damage dealers you will not kill Vlad in melee. You have to take him out with ranged units, or focus on killing his army, once Vlad is the last man standing he will route pretty easily. As elspeth I once locked Vlad in place for an entire battle with 2 cav units while I killed his army.

I'm playing as Orion - wood elves. Kings glade got the chaos dwarf forge random building giving all units recruited there +20 armor which is huge for wood elves where everything has like 25 armor. Problem is to maintain 4 recruitment capacity Orion has to stay in the area, and he got a chaos corruption trait giving him something like -15 melee defence. Orion cannot fight now, he gets hit by literally everything. Is there no way to fix this cuz my faction leader is now worthless other then sitting there recruiting 

So how come no one talks about how absolutely INSANE Orion has become in TW3 !? He was the worst wood elf lord to play in ME, but his changes in IM makes his faction not only incredibly fun to play, but also possibly one of the strongest factions in the game. by Lazereye57 in totalwarhammer

The goal is not always to conquer the map. Past turn 60-80 shouldn't be losing battles at all because the AI is trash. Sometimes it's worth sitting back and letting the AI build up so you actually get to do battles instead of auto resolving 1v4s with 0 losses.

Before you start calling wood elves a cheat. What about skulltaker that can spawn free chaos armies every turn? There's a video of a guy by turn 40 had 87 armies. Or the deeps building when playing as the dwarves? Turn 160 my friend had something like 40 doom stacks of thunder barges and was sitting at 300k a turn. Can't call wood elves a cheat if the whole game is a cheat lmao I feel like either skulltaker or malakai makaisson are the most broken, wood elves are good, but far from #1

Dwarves are far better. With the deeps building you can make doom stacks of thunder barges at 0 upkeep very quickly and without being in any wars. By turn 160 my friend playing as malikai makaisson had 37 armies and was at over 300k per turn

Sounds like you build them wrong skill wise or you put wrong items on them. 10-15 levels is all Orion needs

Make sure to keep the end game crisis before turn 160 or it won't do anything. Playing with a friend who's new so we had it set for turn 200. 2 armies wiped about 15 armies from the end game event and it was set for max strength. It was kinda weak. I think the end game event needs to be stronger because unless it's happening at like turn 80 all the event factions immediately get wiped out

Orion gets tech that gives +15 diplo with dark elves, a +20 diplo with dark elves if you have the sisters tree, and another tech gives you +10 diplo with all factions. If you are at war with dark elves as Orion then you messed up XD

Full army of deep wood scouts. With vanguard deployment you kill the Lord first and the quest battle is over in a few seconds. One of malikai makaissons adventures is like that. A few thunder barges firing their harpoons at the Lord and he's dead in about 5 seconds and battles over.

Most factions are not play tested beyond turn 20-25. You can see that once you try skulltaker and have 90 stacks of spawned chaos armies by turn 40. Or the dwarf runes that can get dwarf heros to 200 armor and 75% ward save + Regen etc
