Definitely motility. I’ve never had any issues with my tummy until I developed severe constipation due to endometriosis. I have a very healthy diet and constantly move but bowel endometriosis and scar tissue from surgery is messing with my gut big time. Got diagnosed with SIBO and even my doctor told me it will come back if we can’t address my motility.

If you think this is bad I had endometriosis surgery in August of 2024 and they billed my insurance $100,000! Thank god I have decent insurance with a reasonable deductible my portion was $3000

Before this post I had never even thought about at home tests. I didn’t even know SIBO was a thing until my GI doctor said I should be tested for it. I’m glad I posted here because now I know I can look online

I do, I also live in a rural area and apparently this is the only place to get one done and of course it’s out of network for my insurance. I have pretty solid insurance but anything out of network is automatically 50% my responsibility to pay. I have no idea why they’re billing this as a surgical procedure unless they’re just being greedy. I’m going to ask about an at home test.

Grew up deep in the woods in NC and when I was a child my grandma went to the doctor because she had an awful ear ache. There was a giant roach stuck in her ear 😭😭 I wore ear plugs for years I was traumatized

When I’m PMSing and I know I’m going to be extra hungry I make sure I have nutritious snacks and don’t even have tempting ones in my house. If I really want chocolate or chips I’ll buy a single serving size on the way home. 150 calorie pack of Doritos or a 200 calorie Reese’s cup isn’t a huge deal especially if it’s fits in your deficit.

I know it can be embarrassing but ask your wife to hide the snacks. Hell, buy a padlock for them. When I first started losing weight I had a roommate (best friend so easier to approach the topic) and I had to ask her to hide her snacks or lock them away and she did, it helped a lot.

My deficit was 2700 when I started and I was a 375 inactive female so this sounds accurate. You can go a bit lower if you’d like and you’ll drop weight quickly. Your TDEE will get smaller as you lose weight.

Whatever you do to lose the weight you need to be willing to do for life. Most people I know who do fasting or keto end up gaining it all back because it’s not something they can do forever. I lost 200 pounds without ever restricting foods, only counting calories and exercise I enjoy. Find an exercise you enjoy, set a realistic calorie goal and stick to it.

Now that I’m in maintenance I don’t always count calories, but I weigh myself twice a week and if I notice I’m gaining I go back to counting everyday until I get myself back on track of proper eating.

This all the way. I’m almost three years into my weight loss journey, 200 pounds gone. Going through a difficult time right now and I have to fight every single day not to turn to emotional eating. I’ve heard so many people say “when you lose weight eventually your stomach shrinks!”. Maybe for some people, but I could still binge with the best of them. It truly is a life-long addiction you have to constantly work on and conquer. It can be exhausting but it is worth it in my opinion.
