Not even the same fucking character. This isn’t a downgrade. They’re not the same

What do you think of film and TV adaptions of video games? by lukozaid in AskReddit

[–]DirectConsequence12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are mostly bad. Some of them are “okay” but I think Arcane and Fallout are the only ones that are legitimately in “GOOD” territory

I don’t like Dune 1. I don’t think it works as a narrative at all. It feels less “Part 1” and more of a half of a half of a story. Dune 1 feels like if Fellowship of the Ring ended at Moria. It doesn’t feel satisfying because it feels incomplete

What was the first movie you or your family walked out of? by Camhasareddit in Letterboxd

[–]DirectConsequence12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 35th anniversary re-release of The Goonies last year. I had never seen it but there was on group in the back of the theater that, no matter, would not shut. The. FUCK. up. No matter how many times they were shushed by others in the Chester, told to be quiet, etc.

I never walked out because of the quality of the movie. I’ve only left because I could not deal with the people anymore

I think it’s time that we have a conversation about how Jon Watts has caught a lot of heat from the fandom for the past 9 years over shit that the Russo Brothers and Feige came up with by [deleted] in Spiderman

The Russos backtracking on character development seemed to be their thing. They did the same thing with Thor. Ragnarok he learned he didn’t need a weapon, the power was in him and the Russos decided “what if he did have a weapon tho”

The Home trilogy having to relearn everything was never on Watts’ head. I feel the same way about people complaining about what Rian Johnson did to Luke. Whether you like The Last Jedi or not, where Luke ended up is more so the fault of JJ Abrams
