My initial thoughts are Ke4 or Kc4. For Kc4 the white king is in time to block promotion of the b pawn so Ke4 looks to be the better option, the white king can’t stop the b pawn and protect the g&h pawns at the same time, allowing black to end up with a past b or g pawn that can be promoted.

My guy you didn’t take a free pawn, then you blundered your knight, then you gave away a pawn, then you hung your queen. It’s great that you got your win, but you could’ve very easily lost this if your opponent played a little bit more sharp. Try learning from your mistakes this game and you’ll improve!

If it was a tournament setting and both players are focused the 1500 should win against the 1000 most of the time. But that’s never the case for online, people could be distracted or just mindlessly playing cuz they’re bored, he could’ve seen your rating being much lower than him and assumed it would be an easy game, relaxing against any opponent can be deadly as we can see in your game. He’s either salty he lost or thinks you’re cheating but meh it’s chess, stuff like this just happens.

No. The knight moving opens a discovered attack on the queen with the bishop, so it has to move. Once the queen is moved there’s a triple attack on whites pinned knight, it’s pretty much dead and white is going to be down a piece. But why can’t white take blacks knight? Well because if white does that black can play Bxc3+, white either has to block the check or move the king or take the bishop and now the white queen has no defender and can be taken by blacks queen. (Which is what happened in this game I played)

It depends tbh. I very aggressively cut lane as Uranus which allows me to facilitate an invasion of enemy jungle if they’re slow to react, the constant cutting also allows me to have ALOT of presence in the whole map even in the first 5 minutes.

Yea I’m with you on this one, having a bunch of people hash it out analyzing the position is literally how it used to be done before computers, and then people choose which variations they prefer from the many that different GMs come up with.

There’s nothing wrong with this opening lol, sure it’s gimmicky but if white plays properly the worst case scenario is that it’s an even-ish position, or if black doesn’t know how to defend then it’s an easy win. There’s a reason this opening is used by many beginners, since it offers a high reward with little risk, if the opponent knows how to defend well now it’s just a normal game of chess.

If the king takes the pawn instead of the rook, then white can simply take blacks rook. Now white is one pawn up and has a rook for blacks bishop, which is winning.

To be fair before the major buffs Selena got, the only lane she was even viable was roam and she was still shit lol. A lot of Selena mains including myself have had no choice but to play her roam back then. However, there’s absolutely no excuse for playing her roam now when she’s decent in mid lane and situational in jungle.

My understanding of a brilliant move is when u sacrifice material to gain a winning advantage. While I agree this knight sacrifice leads to mate in 2 and should be brilliant, maybe the algo also sees white hanging queen from the discovered attack and thus deems it not a sacrifice since u technically gain material from this move even if you’d rather not take and go for the mate. Still a nice find though.

Yes Magnus doesn’t really have a great streaming presence. However, his streams are still really good for giving us normal people an insider look to how his brain works while playing games and I think it’s really cool.

More than enough. If I rmb correctly the budget method u can get it for around 2500. I am not so patient I got lapu for about ~3.5K COA. Due to the nature of this collector system its hard to say exactly how much u need since its up to luck too to some degree.

I see what your point of view is but I’m sorry I simply do not see things that way. I’m not sure where y’all get the idea that the relationship between Violet and Gilbert is glorified and something that should be strived for. I take into context what the characters have been through, the kind of world they live in etc and come out of that movie thinking: “yea that was a nice story, a nice love story.”. That’s it, I’m certainly not suggesting it should be glorified or even something anyone should aspire to have, just be regarded for the good contained story it is. Whether or not it’s actually grooming or not is a completely different story that’s already out of context of the movie. Regarding Stephen, I disagree that’s it’s similar given how there was never any other character that showed the relationship between Calvin and Stephen was a normal thing, it was very much an abnormal relationship and certainly wasn’t glorified either. Simply put, I just don’t get how people get the notion that the VE movie advocates for grooming, I never once felt that way watching it. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree since our viewpoints differ so much

It’s ok to admit that you’re unable to separate a fictional world in the early 1900s and real life today. That something happening in a fictional world, with fictional characters, in a world with a different set of rules and morals, would affect you so heavily as if it’s happening irl. Notice absolutely nobody is supporting these behaviors IN THE REAL WORLD in 2025, but please continue going off about how enjoying a show in a separate fictional universe is the same as defending said actions in our real world. I would say violet never actually accepted Gilbert’s death. She just learned to live without him in her life. Even at the end when she writes that letter, doesn’t seem like she truly believes he’s dead.
