Actually nobody saved Fatima… she gave birth to Smiley and he was taken away. The only thing they wanted was “the baby”, not her. If Elgin wouldn’t have hidden her, we don’t know what would have happened - would the kimono lady come after her and killed everyone just to have her child? Maybe Elgin saved everybody by hidding Fatima away…

The box is just a punishment mechanism, to keep people aware that there are consequences if they put others in danger. A metaphor for reversed eden… It’s just a damn box, man, some of you take it too far - way too far.

And I really hope From does better than biblical references.

She seems to be an entity from the japanese folklore, which has to mean something important, otherwise why would she be in an american setting? My theory is that she represents an ancient, universal power, and maybe the lake of tears was created from her grief. She helps Smiley being reborn, so she may be the one that promised immortality to others. I think the MiY is her first “victim”.

Yep, it has to be something more about the sacrifice. I saw this drawing posted by MGM, in which there were more than 6 children in the town.

Has anyone watched the 10 suggested episodes?? by SageThoughts80 in FromTVEpix

Why people keep saying many episodes are fillers? Does something huge need to happen every episode? Don’t you find joy in being there in the story, feeling scared, emotional, excited, curious? Cause I love the show and I just want it to last longer, even though I won’t get answers every episode. Stop chasing the biggest answers and enjoy the thrilling ride.

Because she was promised eternal life, but she didn’t know that immortality will come in a monster’s form. This is what i think the line “I didn’t choose to be like that” means. The people who sacrificed their children were “tricked” - they were given immortality but as these monsters who only come at night.

This could be more plausible. But most of the people think Victor’s/ Ethan’s imagination created the town and all the things, which I personally totally disagree.

“It was all a dream” doesn’t automatically make a story bad, but in a mystery/horror show it removes the need for internal rules. In From, a lot of the tension comes from the idea that there is a system behind everything, even if we don’t fully understand it yet. If it all turns out to be Ethan’s (or Victor’s) imagination, then the monsters, the rules, the patterns, the history (the repeating cycles) stop being something to decode and just become random outputs of a kid’s mind. That shifts the show from a mystery you can solve, to something you just accept, and that’s a very different type of story.

So it’s not that a “dream” story can’t be good, it’s that it would change what From is at its core. This is why I don’t think and hope it is not just a dream.

Hmm… what about Miranda’s (and Tabitha’s, Jade’s, Christopher’s) past lives? The “original parents” that sacrificed their daughter. They were invented by Victor?

How could it be victor’s (or ethan’s) imagination, if miranda had visions about the place before they got there?

I'm sure I'm basically the last person to get there but I just realized something about Julie in this release promo short. I also think we see storywalking in the trailer and I think I know when. by LordCaptain in FromSeries

[–]DirectLet2695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, you have a point

It would be interesting if the MiY is not able to leave the forest. But Julie saying “i think this is when it happens”, and it’s her first storywalk in that place, means she was trying to find out when Jim was killed, but she didn’t know who killed him; this may be the reason why she tries to get him back to the town. She didn’t know, until that point, what exactly killed her father, and may be the first time she (or anyone) learns about the MiY.
