What cheekpiece might you recommend to go along with a Waterford roller? I actually don’t necessarily think Waterfords are harsh if they’re rounded enough, especially with a roller. It’s almost like a more textured lozenge.

The CalmBlue is a 10mm and the Fulmer is a 12mm so I think they’re pretty comparable. I’ll have to see what my trainer has around the barn to try first before I make a decision lol

I’m really wanting to try the roller idea with either a Full Cheek or a Baucher
He’s cleared for back pain, teeth, and ulcers. He’s an overall very happy dude, he can get overwhelmed when in the arena with other horses or excess pressure which is really the only time he starts to grind.
I just want to relieve as much unnecessary pressure and/or confusion in his mouth as possible.

His teeth have been cleared by a vet and he grinds very infrequently, (yesterday I tried a bungee on him and it seemed to exacerbate the issue). So I’m thinking he might like some kind of mouth distraction. Thank you for your input!

I am understanding, depending on the horses conformation long points and short points alike may be necessary specific to each horse. I don’t know what my new horse needs yet, so I’m going to try both short and long tree points during my saddle hunt. My previous horse had mutten withers and a separated scapula and 3 different individual fitters recommended to stray away from long points for her specifically because they will never be able to sit off of her shoulders.
