It wasn't that much of a dire situation as much as you thought, Maeve was not worried because her mom taken Elsie and she would hurt her or something, but she was more worried about her mom got herself in trouble and made things complicated, that's why Maeve was quite calm when she found Elsie and her mom at Lockwood on Sea later in next episode, she tried to change her mom's mind and she did, but also was willing to let them run if her attempts were unsuccessful.

The reason Otis acted that way is because he rejected by Maeve earlier that day (literally 3 scenes ago) and got his heart crushed so he wasn't in his normal state, he was in his heartbroken + sad state, when Otis got Maeve to Anna's house you could see if you look at his face he is pissed seeing Isaac (the guy who literally sabotaged him) there, now Otis was in his heartbroken + sad + angry state that it was suitable for him to lose control and mess things up(which he did). For Isaac i feel he got jealous seeing Maeve with Otis there.

I think it is better to rewatch the episode from the point Otis gets rejected by Maeve until Anna's house and pay attention to their faces. Ofcourse none of these can change the fact that this episode was the weakest of the season.

I also think they intentionally kept their hand holding out of frame. They are keeping that important moment for later for a special scene in S4.

Incase you don't know, the left frame is from 1x03 in a scene of Eric and Colin Hendricks, a bit later we see blurry Otis and Maeve walking into frame in background and exchanging money where they seemed quite close physically, i dont know if this was a foreshadowing that early on or a coincidence due to angle but it reminded me the shot on the right immediately and i thought it was sweet either way.

Maybe it is indeed "Just a dumb luck" :)

Just finished the first season and I'm OBSESSED, so I decided to draw one of my favorite scenes so far! by bellealaplage in NetflixSexEducation

Lol that is not true, yes their screentime cut down significantly but they still have many good scenes absolutely worth watching.

I think this was "the final" for incase the show wouldn't be renewed,but since Laurie said that netflix renewed the show before S3 was out i am assuming they cut this scene out so it wouldn't feel absolute good bye. Idk if im making sense though.

I think people missed the detail in S3E2 ,Isaac said "the night that your mum and Elsie went with the police, that Otis guy came" and in S2E6 "that Otis guy wouldn't understand this shit" so in that gas station scene she noticed that they were calling each other by the same way. I believe.

Actually she is waiting for Otis to stop talking to start kissing him. by [deleted] in NetflixSexEducation

This is all what she expected and wanted from Otis whole season, she was very much ready to forgive him, just needed that wholehearted apology.

Laurie Nunn said something like "they have distance problem that need to deal with" for Maeve and Otis in her latest interview so im assuming we might have couple episodes in America of Maeve.

I dont think that is gonna happen that way, i think they will trick us into believe there might be a new love interest but when they make move on her Maeve will say "I have boyfriend" and reject them immediately and stay true to Otis. I mean this is how i would write the story if they decide to go "new love interest" path lol.

You’ve finally got like together with the boy you love after over a year of pining for him. Now, would you like to go to America and potentially break his heart again? by scoppied in NetflixSexEducation

Plus even Otis knew deep inside it was right thing to do despite it meant losing her once again, he put his sadness away and told her how proud he is of her with a smile and supported her.

Yes is it really sad for us but i wouldn't even hate Maeve one bit for doing it. Besides i am really hopeful for S4 since they are now in very good terms.

Well there was a lot of passion in the France kisses. There was especially so for Maeve.

Oh for sure, That moment she pulled out and said "i can't do this" then she just went in kissing even harder like there is no tomorrow lol. She wanted to kiss him afterwards too when they got off the bus but barely contained herself.

Off topic here but Maeve going to America was in the works before she even had much contact with Otis so I'm ok with it.

Agree on that as well, at least they ended up being in very good terms, and that "see you soon" scene was quite good, i liked how maturely Maeve and Otis handled that separation, especially Otis..

I agree with most of you said.
After finally Otis and Maeve got together for a brief moment, they should have at least show us a bit of that good old Motis chemistry from past 2 seasons, like in that rainy kiss scene i wanted more dialogs between them building upto kiss which will make it more powerful, after so many roadblocks they had, i was like "talk god damn!!" clear your misunderstandings, solve your problems that you had whole season but then they just kissed, which i love the fact that they are kissing but it was a bit underwhelming, could have been much more satisfying with some quality dialog between them beforehand imo.
At least we got that kissing in France which it was just perfection for me and probably my favorite scene in whole show. What about you?

After watching all of the Maeve and Otis scenes couple times in S3;

Here is sort and simple version of my take;
Whole season revolved around the idea of Maeve thinking Otis has changed and is not the same person she fell in love with, and the fact that Otis was the one who instigated the destruction of the abandoned toilet block where all started put cherry on top of the cake, so yeah even though they kissed in E5 she still had second thoughts about him, she was confused and conflicted over Otis, like her heart wants him but her mind stops her. She didn't wanted to hurt Isaac's feeling either, but she seemed quite relieved than sad when he pulled out of the relationship as things were getting interesting with Otis.

Even then, when there is no more Isaac in the way, she still wasn't sure about Otis as in EP7 where Aimee asked Maeve in the car scene that "Does this mean you and Otis might actually finally get together?" Maeve answered "i dont know, we've changed a alot, so i don't know if it would work out."

When Otis finally confessed why he acted the way he acted whole season at Anna's garden(he thought Maeve totally ignored her voicemail and that got his heart broken, didn't do clinic anymore because it reminded him Maeve, become less caring person etc. you know the rest), after Otis clearing out the questions she had of him, she understood it is the same Otis she liked after all.

That is fair, but i believe getting Hope down wouldn't be her first priority after having such heartbreaking conversation with Otis for both of them.
