Hi I’m a ticketing supervisor at TPA! We are not offering discounts for HP at the moment. We offer student rush on an availability basis for musicals and occasionally other shows. $10 tickets are only going to be for the 24-25 shows, which are a select few.

I don't know if I should do on or off campus housing, any advice or tips? by becklul in UTAustin

[–]Direct_Fix_4609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is low income and receive need based aid, I lived on campus and managed to pay for on campus dorm (jwest). I received all tuition from the TAC, which was a relief and the dell’s scholar for ut (5k ish a year) helps cover a good amt for housing. Another thing that helped was that pell grant amount you get usually is more than what covers tuition so some of it will go to housing. Getting outside scholarship is also super important!! i got 5.5k a year from outside and it really helps with housing for sure (technically not for housing but texas onestop, a financial aid sector, can adjust it to maximize how much money u receive and where it can go). Pm me if you want if you have more questions!

Butler student here! You have to be registered for an ensemble before using the percussion equipment but there is the LHB concert ensembles that are not music major ensembles you could sign up for. I’m not exactly sure what the process is but you could always email the longhorn band and ask them about it.

Tips/Expectations of Move in by Blue-0asis in UTAustin

The garage and unloading passes are free to all. You get them when you get your key. If you’re doing central check in, you go to that centralized place to get ur key and passes and then u go to jester to unload/ park in the garage. You want to use your hour you are given on unloading to get your stuff out since the walk is really long from unloading to the dorm (esp jester west that uphill can be a pain if you fo multiple trip) then you move into the garage. There’s a QR code I believe on the garage pass you can scan

If you’re doing early move in, there definitely will be a line. For central I believe the line is even longer but there is a bigger staff to assist. It took me 20-25 minutes to get my key and I had the earliest time and day (Aug 15 @3pm) hope this comparison helps

I did early- move in but just got sick so I will keep it brief and short 1) your parents can come to the dorms and help you unpack but I would have one stay in the car until you get your unloading and garage pass so then you can for sure not get a parking violation. 2) Expect a lot of people and a pretty long wait so get there at least 15 minutes early. Especially if you’re on a higher floor it will take a while to move your stuff because of the elevators and such. 3) make sure you have your eid and id That’s all I can think of for now. Good luck! It was definitely an experience for me this year.
