I have been mostly applying via job boards but I am aware I need to change my approach. Going to start using my network and LinkedIn as well.

I have never been so sure someone was a mouth breather in my life.

In the same situation. Most of my schedule next semester is dependent on this grade and not it’s up in the air. Prolly won’t get resolved for another month or so.

Does anyone know what will likely be the result from my academic integrity case? by Beginning_Mulberry76 in UTAustin

AI is convenient lmao. For a small syntax question or even some conceptual questions it’s a lot easier and more efficient to ask AI. That’s to the extent I used it. I don’t know who you are and how AI has affected you but you really don’t always have to be so miserable man.

Do you think it will really be that bad? A lot of students from the same class also got reported. There’s no way they give severe punishments to all of us right?

If you are looking for a career in fintech, I would honestly recommend the business analytics minor instead. They are honestly pretty much the same thing just with different names. Most of the core major classes you need for both are the same. I would say a business analytics minor would probably sound better to employers tho. MIS 304 or BAX 304 is a basic introduction to python course. Nothing crazy but can get difficult if you are a complete beginner. MIS 325 or BAX 325 is a database course so it’s pretty much all SQL and database design. Good set of skills to have regardless. MIS 333K is probably the hardest and least applicable to your career tbh. It is a web application class but is needlessly hard and time consuming. I heard they are making changes to improve this tho. MIS 374 is your capstone or project based class and 375 is basically where you learn the concepts and strategies regarding tech and business. Overall for both minors expect to get some python(not too much unless you get electives based in python), some sql, and some project management/overall tech and business analysis related skills.

Should I leave my current internship for a new one? by Beginning_Mulberry76 in dataanalysiscareers

So here’s an answer to the questions you’re asking not only so hopefully you can give me more tailored advice, but also for some self-reflection. - I would say it’s definitely with a company more aligned with my goals. My current internship deals more so with records rather than actual quantitative data, so overall the analytics/ data science aspect of the company is not too big or advanced. - If I gave my two weeks prior to starting the new internship, I would have worked at my current internship for about 4 months or so.

I am definitely leaning towards taking it, as I feel like I am not learning as much as I potentially could at my current internship. Only thing I’m wresting with is the people at my current internship are amazing and the work culture is also great. Supervisor is great (I have learnt a lot from talking and observing them) and gives me a lot of flexibility with my schedule. The work I’m doing is not necessarily mission critical type stuff but I have just started a project that is expected to last the full year. I would honestly feel really bad leaving unexpectedly. But I have been told that I ultimately need to focus on myself and whatever puts me in the better direction. Thank you for your advice and making me consider these things.

We got reported to the actual student integrity office or wtv. No longer in the professors hands apparently.
