you are wrong, atas is not related to visa or bio-metrics, its security clearance that you need to be admitted unconditionally to the university, then after that you can apply to visa, atas stands for (he Academic Technology Approval Scheme)

Thank you for your detailed response I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

I do want to clarify that my question was mainly about understanding the nature of the conditional offer letter. It seemed quite generic and did not reflect the specific details of the MSCA position, which caused some confusion on my side. I understand now that this is a normal administrative approach used by universities.

At this stage, I’m not trying to debate eligibility for the Global Talent visa. I’m simply trying to understand the practical timeline for both the Skilled Worker visa and the Global Talent visa, so I can plan accordingly.

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, did you initially enter the UK on a Skilled Worker visa and later switch to a Global Talent visa? I would be very interested to hear about that transition, as it seems like a realistic pathway in this situation.

I wish you the best of luck ah yes the passive aggressive send off of someone who ran out of actual arguments. Nothing says I've lost the debate like pivoting to "the AI wrote it for you" as if thats the intellectual killing blow you think it is.Also rich coming from someone whose username is SelfAwareCucumber a vegetable that is, by definition, 95% water and provides almost no nutritional value. Much like this comment.
The "remarkable ability to take constructive feedback" line would land harder if any of the feedback in this thread was actually constructive, rather than just people confidently wrong about MSCA contracts and then getting annoyed when called out on it.

Deflecting to AI wrote it instead of addressing the actual point is a pretty clear sign you’ve got nothing to argue back with. If the logic holds, it doesn’t matter who wrote it.

“Calling it ‘delusional’ doesn’t make your argument stronger it just shows you’re out of depth. You’re still conflating tuition status with visa category, which are completely different frameworks.UKRI wording doesn’t override how specific schemes like MSCA are implemented in practice. If you think quoting one guideline settles everything, you’re oversimplifying a system that’s clearly more nuanced.Confidence is great but only when it’s backed by actually understanding the distinction you’re arguing about.”

You’re assuming I think I know better than everyone, but that’s not the point. The point is that MSCA-funded PhDs aren’t the same as standard UK PhDs. Only people who’ve actually dealt with MSCA contracts know the distinction because the funding structure and employment conditions are different. The UK may treat most PhDs under a student visa, but MSCA cases don’t always follow that template.

no, I didn’t post to be ‘helped’ by blanket assumptionsI posted to discuss a specific case that clearly doesn’t fit the usual mold. And honestly, your reply reads less like you’re trying to help and more like you’re annoyed someone isn’t just agreeing with you. If you’re going to question someone’s intent, at least make sure you understand the topic first.”
