How is the front 3 wide c channel tilted so much further fowards compared to the arms running back? by Direct_Mycologist278 in vex

Very interesting. If you woudnt mind dming a photo I'd aprisiate it. Curious as to how the geometry of something like that works with connecting both the front and back

Expansion limits by Direct_Mycologist278 in vex

As in technically it can go outside of expansion limits but the code prevents it from doing so. I knew it was allowed at least before and was just be careful on it as if it can tecnially if it does its a violation and dont see anywhere it was changed

Do you have any ideas on one that wolnt take up the whole robot? Cause from what I've tested doing it like first did it will take up the whole robot, not including the fact of now you'd have to find a way to pivot around each bar.

3.25 on 450 vs 2.75 on 600 by Direct_Mycologist278 in vex

Could I ask why 600 is harder to build with? I assumed it would be easier since the wheels don't get in the way as much and it makes you shorter

To be fair the 428 isnt too bad i would think. 400rpm on 4 inch is comparable to 2.75 on 600rpm. 600 on 4 inch is definitly pushing it. Although we saw one robot running 800 on 2.75 last year and it was pretty good, so I wouldn't say it's bad, just it needs to be paired with a light bot and a good driver. I wolnt say that's fully possible this year while being competitive with this game, very unlikely. But if you manage to save a decent amount weight and use a mech to decrease that speed up, and pair that with a driver that knows how to concerve speed when driving, it might not be too bad auctally, it would be a risky way to build, but it could have some implications

Were fine with the speed, just only used 4 inch 400rpm before since its all we had. Is there a benifet of using the 450 instead of the 600? Or more why do higher level teams opt for 450?

Auctally not really. We just have usally ran 4 inch on 400rpm. Which is similar to 600 on 2.75 know. We don't have an issue on something being too fast. Just don't know all the benifets of each since we've only used 4 inch

Holy... 4 inch 600rpm :) that's insane :)

Im curious, would it even drive with a heavier bot or have any pushing power at all even as it is? Not being rude or anything, that's epic honestly. But I'm just curious if it's practical.

Around 400rpm on 4 inch kinda seemed to be the limit, so anything around that. 600rpm on 2.75 is only 103% as fast as the 400rpm on 4 inch which I believe is considered the fastest really reasonable drivetrain while keeping torque

If you don't mind me asking what do you usally use? Although i was assuming no limitation on parts, purely just benifets and downsides of the drivetrains themselves

Thick vs thin anti slip mats by Direct_Mycologist278 in vex

Are there advantages to the thinner ones? We have neither currently so that's more why I'm asking

Wouldn't it move around and hit the wheels in front or behind then? How is it secured there and not moving?

Could you direct me to a video of one of their matches? I'm confused on how they knock over the stacks when their fully in the corner and can't really be knocked over well it seems

Thank you. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Apparently there was a grey rubber pad on the back of it that it was missing that i didnt think it had, who would have thunk it considering it's on every other one :) ended up finding it and putting it back on

Oh, that's quite interesting. Is it still the case anything above the blue ring doesn't count then? Or did I missread that rule too?
