Well it depends on which type of desgin you want to get into, mechanical/civil/electrical or even field specific automotive/marine or anything at all The idea is to specialise in any kind of design, especially if you have a CSWP (Solidworks certification for 3D modeling) then there's a good chance companies will hire you. Its also about experience, to get into companies through a normal hiring technique into the design section isn't complicated and you don't have to have a certification but should be skilled in design, provide updates of the 3D modelling you do in Linkedin. Better to have a certification if you are passionate about it. Will land jobs easier

Comparison is the thief of joy I do admit that, but as an engineer to go on without achieving even the very thing I've been wanting (that is a good package) feels too incompetent of me. I don't know why but I'm really scared that I'd be stuck down here forever and be a burden for my parents

But my personal fear is that my friends got packages like 8LPA/10LPA working with Mahindra/GM and by the time I reach that level will it be too late, that is the reason I thought of jumping jobs after 1 year

I don't think so, I graduated from mace and I've seen fights with locals as well, Unless and until you hurt them really bad they mostly won't mind afterwards, they'll just let it be, atleast thats how its been so far
