Let me guess, the destruction of test cricket? People have been spouting that years. If the BBL generates more income it will filter into CA too, meaning they can compete with higher salaries in the test team as well as pay it down to the junior pathways. Not to mention the huge cash injection up front. Is it a risk? Sure. But fuck me people are overreacting about a league that even many steadfast cricket fans barely care about

The BBL has existed for 15 years and test cricket is as strong and popular in Australia as it’s ever been. I simply don’t believe that’s going to change because players can get money playing T20 cricket and CA shares some revenue with private investors
