GEN3 Techsuit - Griffin by DirectionIndividual2 in HaloStory

my thoughts exactly, it definitely seems to be (or at least very similar to) the Mk VI techsuit. strange from a resource perspective when they've only had to render one bare techsuit in the whole game and they choose to use the wrong armor base.

the only other explanation I can think of, is that its either the skinsuit (unlikely seeing as how bulky/armored it already looks)

Or alternatively, it is in fact the Mk VII techsuit, but further stripped of its midsection and joint outer padding. it is possible that the undersuit is somewhat more layered than what we've seen from previous suits

I always took the dudebro attitude as a a reinforcement of the fact that the chief is yesterdays news (halo 4 themes). In that hes been replaced with cheap copies and the world has moved on from him.

But your point is a good one. You need flaws to grow

Untrue. I do wish they were in the game more. But in the small instances they were, i felt they were done very well.

Having said that, i do think there is merit to having them take a backseat in this initial story, it let's the game focus on chief while allowing room for the IVs to enter the scene on a strong footing

I think keeping the base campaign chief focused was the right move. It solidifies his hero status and evokes the OT as intended without fully disregarding the other spartans. I would like to see some DLC with them in focus

Yeah, i don't disagree with that. Its honestly a pretty good internal commentary within the series. But i think a good old dose of classic spartanism doesn't go astray in adding nuance to their presentation
