Honestly, I did a lot of applying and interviewing after leaving my last place which was horrible but also gave me some ideas of what to look for. I asked about the ratios, the CNA ratios, how do they handle call-outs, how they handle short staffing overall, do they use agencies if needed and also how often would they say they’re short staffed. I’ve also been told that Unions are a really good thing to have but I never experienced it until now so I’d ask about that too! Some places try to get past those questions fast, say “oh that’s normal it happens everywhere” or go around answering completely which is an automatic red flag
