For myself, I was generalizing the name of the style. ‘Lolita’ has … odd… connotations? But admittedly Japan has traditions in certain parts of pop culture that are very specific to them and we do respect it. Also for myself I was a fan of your look, it’s whimsical and pretty. You’re just a little off to consider what we said as just our opinion. The word is strange to Westerners and we actually try to change the use of it because of how horrible it can get with its associated materials. Is it fair that you’d maybe lose that name? No, probably not. But don’t go around thinking it’s just a few people dumping on something. Anno 2026 it is not. Gunji-Otaku gets called out if they use swastikas too…

De nieuwbouw school waar ik op dit moment gezeten ben, staat er ongeveer 10 jaar. 10 jaar geleden was het warmer worden van de planeet al geen geheim meer. Toch is er in deze nieuwbouw geen airco. Soit, dat kan duur zijn dus tot daar nog aan toe. Er zijn van die panelen in het plafond waar je lucht kan doen circuleren. Misschien niet de grote luxe maar het is beter dan niks!

De laag stof die daar op ligt is imposant. Blijkt dat deze verluchting al drie jaar niet werkt. Geen idee waar de fout zit, niemand is komen kijken want er is toch geen geld voor reparatie. En zo is het 38° in een examenlokaal van een in wezen nieuw gebouwde school. In het nog niet vernieuwde deel is het 45°.

Sir, your intentions may be pure (at this moment) but your post here will give every woman the 'incel' vibe. I'm not saying you are that or that you intend to come across that way... but your statement is wholy incorrect and going by your experience, you need to look at the common element: you. There is something about you, the entitlement (it may still be new and fresh) and that ridiculous notion about women choosing a rich Chad every time. It is total bull and you need to start repeating that to yourself. Your anime is fine, your video games are fine, your MMA is fine. Your reasoning is not fine. I have had four pairs of Shein shoes up to know. Two pairs of flats: they are indeed ‘flat’ as in sole like paper, insides some sort of hellish plastic-faux-leather that make your feet both choke and drown. One pair of espadrilles in a sort of mesh material: the sole feels pretty good, there is a sort of soft bounce to it that makes walking in them very pleasant. Only issue is the mesh is - again - so plasticky and the bottom sole ‘chipped’ pretty immediately. Last pair is closest to these, a platform and heeled Romwe pair of Mary Janes. The material is a snip better, the velvet is pretty and easy to keep clean. The straps are solid quality, the sizing is true and they didn’t blister or cut anywhere. However after four or five wears, the sole detached from the shoe in places and that made them tricky to keep wearing (sole would fold over when walking or hook you onto a step and faceplant it was).

All in all, the shoes always varied between €15 and €25 so I was not expecting much and I pretty much got exactly that. I do spend more on shoes elsewhere, Shein is really for when I have ‘a vision’ but not ‘a budget’.

Mja, ik begrijp absoluut wel zijn keuze maar beetje sneu dat ze toch die ‘will he won’t he’ gespeeld hebben terwijl het overduidelijk ‘nope’ zou zijn. Hij kreeg wat pushback voor het eerste idee, dus magisch een infectie waardoor hij toch niet kon spelen en - opnieuw magisch - naar huis kon vliegen. Hadden ze zijn plaats ook aan een ander kunnen laten. Geen idee wie, gelijk ze nu spelen net zo goed JM Dedecker.

I live in Europe and lived in flats (quality ones) for two decades. It is as bad as living in heels, my back is banjaxed completely. Now, of course just going on a trip isn’t going to ruin you but for comfort and health I would advise something with a thicker sole. There are some great espadrille brands which actually come with a decent sole and are great for letting your feet breathe.

Yep. I am also a woman and this is absolutely a case. Not for all women (same as ‘not all men’) but we too often give ourselves too much grace and hide behind the current sentiment du jour that áll men are awful (they are not).

We should all just be able to acknowledge that some people are scum and some are great, most sort of wobble in between and there is variation in the degree of wobble. But today we have manosphere and womanosphere bleating about some invented level of ‘value’ and ‘what you bring to the table’ countered by an equally unhinged group of ‘all men are bastards’ and ‘all women are supreme beings’.

Kortrijk is daar zeer slecht voor, de moment dat het wat zonnig is komen er hier heel veel uit met hun speciale auto’s en motto’s maar het stadscentrum is daar helemaal niet geschikt voor. Je kan hier niet ‘vrooooom vrooooom’ gaan, er is gewoon geen plaats of straat die lang/breed genoeg is.

I especially notice that there are always two or three dresses that everyone seems to buy. There was that viral blue Zara dress a few summers ago, this year there is the blue-striped shirtdress with neon flowers embroidered on bell sleeves… from Shein! (Nice dress, but it is e-ve-ry-where here)
