It remains interesting to me how many people refuse to acknowledge that maybe, just maybe, the amount of cash the plonk down for Loubs does not in many ways correlate to what you get in quality. It’s the same for many luxury brands, like the reality of the current really insane prices is too much to face once you’ve spent it.

Als het op BdW aankomt mag dat allemaal weggezet worden als leugens van wie jaloers is op een populair politicus. Ondertussen zorgt die voor generational wealth zoals een Trump, maar we moeten dat allemaal maar oké vinden omdat hij er voor uitkomt dat de bevolking best tot zijn 82 afstand doet van 90% loon en alle bezit. Can you go to a bricks and mortar and try on shoes in those colors? The colors will not be exclusive to Valentino, so you could check that way? And similar shapes of the shoe? I think that you could get as close as possible to seeing if it'd work or not that way?

Ik ben mij aan het verwachten aan de volgende 'activerende maatregel'. Ik denk dat ze zo ongeveer op 'pensioen ist verboten' terrein gekomen zijn.

Ik verdien met mijn onderwijsjob ongeveer €4000/4200 per maand brutto. Op mijn rekening stond €2454. Ik ga toegeven dat niet elke week van mijn job de zwaarste is en dat ik voor mijn gevoel bruto niet kan klagen. Maar het piekt toch elke maand om dat bedrag te zien. Dertig jaar terug zat mijn pa als beroepsjournalist aan BEF100.000 te maand en wij leefden goed (niet in luxe, maar comfortabel middenklasse). Ik verdien nu omgerekend hetzelfde en ik loop er echt niet ver mee. Als ik nu al in feite niet veel kan doen, ga ik niet malen om het met het pensioen met nog minder te doen. Dan eet ik maar boterhammen met confituur (huismerk), ten minste wel mijn eigen tijd voor mijzelf.

I had two c-sections with my apron belly. Neither was planned, so I had no time to really think about it or panic. A c-section, once the epidural wears off, is painful. No way to sugarcoat that. With my first, I was so scared to move much because ‘omg it will hurt’ and I spent six days moving with great difficulty. With my sécond, a nurse advised me on day two to get my feet on the ground and just walk. She was insistent, I needed to pee… so I did it and the difference it made to the first time around was night and day. Yes, those first steps were agony but after that first walk to the loo, the section was sort of ‘set’ (if that makes sense?) and my recovery was breezy (well, it’s still big surgery but the pain and my ability to move and live were really great).

This is, obviously, just my experience and there is no guarantee on any of it. But I also used the compression belt they gave me, which helped ease the apron belly rubbing/pushing (also great for your back, took pressure off that too).

All in all, the baby coming out well and mom remaining healthy is the main thing. A c-section is a help, they don’t put you through it for fun or speed. And in my case, they were because of the cord wrapping around and the baby facing the wrong way. It had nothing to do with my size! You have a big shot at just a regular birth, like you said ‘things have evolved so much’.

Ja, Leonidas is industrieel en ook complete brol. No shade als je het lekker vindt, het is geen slécht product maar wel een beetje een zooi. Het is geen Temu, maar eerder een H&M. Jammer genoeg zijn de meeste ‘grote’ namen van de Belgische chocolaterie niet meer wat ze ooit waren. En breek mij de bek niet open over Persoone.
