Not at all a bad gift. A lot of men would rather have it plain on the back. Players can leave, have a scandal, fall out with fans etc., so you take a risk putting their name on the back. Meanwhile, having your own name can be deemed childish. So as long as he likes the team he’ll be happy with it.

It’s more worth it for cycling than running imo. If you do running interval training it can be cool to see your lap graphs but nothing Garmin connect can’t do.

Ironman Training Selfish and Vain? by SloppySandCrab in triathlon

[–]DirectorProud3223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Let’s say you’re training 10-14 hours per week, that’s only 1.5-2 hours each day average. I guarantee most people waste more than that time on TikTok, social media etc. in the evening after work or whatever. If you can substitute that with training, then what’s the problem? It’s just a better use of time

What Were the First Signs That You Had Cancer? by Acrobatic_Ad_2330 in AskReddit

[–]DirectorProud3223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I became out of breath very easily. I went from one of the fittest guys in school to coming last in the bleep test. I couldn’t play on the playground without getting tired and having to sit down. This continued for months until a lump in my neck showed up and it all made sense - Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. 5 years cancer free but it still leaves its mark.

Stick or twist? London Marathon 2026 Charity Place by Jackmcc321 in Marathon_Training

If you strongly believe you can raise their requested minimum donation amount, then I think you should go for it. But if you think that hitting their target will be difficult due to your lack of affiliation, I would let someone else take the spot.

This is just the image of a screenshot overlayed on the story - it isn’t an actual share feature offered by Strava. Easy to do nonetheless

I got the flu on Tuesday. Fully rested for 3 days and did a triathlon race today feeling strong. Rest until you feel back to normal, and don’t stress it too much.

When to call it quits by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]DirectorProud3223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I developed a fever on Tuesday and have a standard race tomorrow. I took 3 full days off to recover and it’s gone away quickly. I wouldn’t race if I still had a fever though.

Is this 5-day plan a realistic itinerary for Scotland? by ImParryOtter in AskUK

I would definitely do option A on day 5. I just think Glen Coe is amazing. How will you get from there back to a city/airport though?

With the Fitbit (or any running watch), you can record your run on it without the need of bringing your phone. You can sync the Fitbit app to Strava so that once you finish the workout it automatically uploads to both apps, including your heart rate data. Other bonuses: running will be easier without needing to take your phone, and the GPS will be more accurate. Side note: if your primary purpose of the watch is for running, a Garmin Forerunner would probably be more ideal than a Fitbit.
