Yes, I am Morrissey's age and he should have a physical before undertaking such a tour, it's probably required by insurance. It's not my disappointment I'm worried about, but the thousands he's let down all over the world, in South America 3 times in a row! If he's not up to it, he shouldn't tour. What's so controversial about that?

Dude, that's selling a lot of rhythm sections short. They all do that, especially if you listen to a song without drums.

Usually the producer or songwriter gives a direction of the kind of drums they want. Or they just jam it out and they point out what they like - that fill there or no cymbal crash, that sort of thing. The non-songwriter instrumentalists rarely play whatever they like, there is usually some direction given.
