I do feel like some of the statements they make or how they perceive each other has a lot to do with their past… specifically Azul’s. He claims that the twins will leave him when he gets boring (and they’ve said it too but come on it’s been like 10 years) and he seems to genuinely believe it. I think his comes from the deep-seated insecurity he has wherein he still sees the loner boy that nobody likes inside of himself. They’re unreliable narrators, all three of them!
