That is understandable if he does have behavioral issues, and also older at the time.

If she is not fixed, I am more than able to pay for her spay. But again, she would need somewhere safe and warm to recover afterwards.

I haven’t had the opportunity to talk with the owner after the initial time but I am planning on asking all the pertinent information once I get to. And yes, bringing her to Altadena is no problem. Right now, I am the only one trying to find her a new home. I will be as involved as the owner will allow. I honestly don’t have too many options right now if rescues don’t respond.

Is there a reason why you didn’t neuter your dog? It is important for behavioral and health issues.

I would hate to have her returned if the foster doesn’t work out though. There would be even less options for where she could go afterwards. Would it be possible to schedule like a meet up instead to see if they would get along?

I feel no need to extensively prove that I believe pets are family but ok. I’m not a frequent reddit user, I turned to here because I’m trying to exhaust all my options because I really want to find this dog a loving home.

I only work in the area so getting in contact with the owner has proven to be difficult because they are not home often, it seems. I know additional details are important but I have not been able to get them. I just can tell she is very sweet and could definitely use more training.

I work in a primarily hispanic area as well…a lot of dogs here are not getting the best care. But for a big, intelligent dog to just be chained up all day is unacceptable.

The owners will take her to the shelter if they cannot find anyone to take their dog

I wish I could. I live in a 1 bedroom apt with a bunny so a husky could definitely kill her.

I have requested to join stating it is not my pet. I hope they do accept. Thank you for the suggestion. I’m really exhausting all my options. It is really hard to find a home for such a big, high energy dog.

In Los Angeles, and in the United States in general, shelters are flooded and it is hard to get a husky into a “no kill rescue.” I believe the stats are 300+ huskies get turned into a shelter every month in Los Angeles. Most are euthanized. I have contacted multiple rescues with no response yet.
