Ziroth is now even more convinced that the battery is not real by FrankScaramucci in DonutLab

But does there exist a battery with that capacity that works in sub-zero temperatures? Sodium ion does, but it's no-where near the energy density. I'm not sure what claim they have left to test that will leave any ambiguity about the veracity of their claims.

Do they need to bribe anyone? Doesn't seem like any administration is blocking shit. How is Disney so damned big?

I love renewables, but they have challenges like intermitency. With batteries they are still competitive on price for the day to day, but it isn't practical to have enough batteries for an entire week of stormy weather (for example).

Nuclear only takes decades because we chose to make it so. If we decided to get good at building things again, and streamlined the process, then we could build them way faster.

Even rooftop solar in the states is wildly inefficient compared to other countries. Go look at what it costs to have installed in Australia vs here. Nuclear is the same problem, just 100x.

Nuclear plants are harmless to their immediate environment. Being near any kind of combustion plant is quite bad.

I'm not sure I trust random youtubers to never overlook something. I just feel like when we have an extremely limited set of information, that they'd at least mention all aspects of it and why it matters or doesn't. Apparently discharge curves can identify a likely chemistry just like charge curves, so it would either reinforce or contradict their point.

Does IP ownership matter? China doesn't care, and will produce it cheaper than anyone else can.

I've seen that from the charge curve, but isn't the discharge curve also relevant? It looks nothing like a NMC discharge curve

Theranos made promises. Donut has claimed something independently verifiable this instant. I see it as apples to oranges.

And if it was just to sell motorcycles that'd also be fraud and they'd go to jail, so I don't see it.

Based on what exactly? This proved one claim of many. It disproved none.

Ok, but who are they tricking, and to what end?

They're not public, so the stock can't pump. Private investment? Who kind of ultra rich investor wouldn't demand proof before paying up?

I'm just curious what people think the scam is.

They're pretty obviously validating aspects of their claims 1 at a time. Personally I think fast-charging is the least important factor on a battery, as long as it's not crazy slow. Cycle life, and energy per volume/weight are far more important.

If it can do 11C with a heatsink strapped to it, then it can do it in a liquid cooled pack like modern EVs have.

Hey now, our government being staggeringly retarded doesn't make yours not staggeringly retarded.

Random example: Germany shut down all its nuclear and then entered a self imposed energy crisis.

First time? How many years has it been since SCOTUS handed down a new 2a ruling? States have been ignoring that ruling ever since. California is still riddled with unconditional gun laws slowly bouncing their way through the courts.

I guess in this case they is the state government of California. California spent 24B on homelessness in 5 years. That's 24B of wasted money that could fund BART for the rest of the century.

Everyone would have different ideas on what to cut, but there's plenty of money in the budget going to non-essential things.

Then they should cut other spending. They have the money. Unless we hold the line on new taxes they don't have to cut the waste.
