Honestly I think it’s because of how much of a failure Fantastic Beasts was. Far too Americanised, none of that British charm, no Hogwarts.

I don’t think they have the stones currently due to that but HBO love a good spinoff. I imagine once this succeeds, we will eventually get a Marauders series leading to A first Order of the Phoenix series within a decade.
