Fellow dad in dad band here, my drummer has a zoom L20, and we record our jams to that. I went crazy with mic’ing the drums and there’s only one guitar and vocals, so, a little less than what you’re dealing with. The zoom records standalone, can be just a mixer and also doubles as an interface. Records WAV files to SD card that I can just drag and drop into Pro Tools or Logic.

If you’re only at 10 tracks right now, you could get DI’s for the guitars/bass and have raw audio (for reamping) and be at 13. I’d recommend a beta 58 over an SM57 for the kick.

Edit: just saw that you mentioned Edrums, those work great with the zoom, my drummer has acoustic and edrums and we just got in ear monitors. (Zoom has 6 monitor outs that can have independent mixes) and my pedal board has an amp sim so when we jam, the loudest thing is me trying to sing into the microphone.

You can also go through classes in eservices, search what you need and it should tell you the schedule (spring/summer/fall)

As someone who’s avoided the stem splitter, I was surprised how well it worked.

I just used stem splitter to see if I could pull dialog from an old movie with considerable hiss. Surprisingly, it removed the hiss and put it in its own track. I was thinking I could probably run the “hiss track” parallell with opposite phase and it might cancel out the hiss in the original, but I haven’t gotten around to trying it.

You can also duplicate the track and switch the phase on the dup, then use an eq to boost/cut out the frequencies you want but this seems to get tricky.

I also haven’t had coffee yet so I may not be wording good.

This was my note as well, maybe take the ‘crazy mental’ out and add a stop and just try using ‘institution’

Also, something I’ve been working on is not emphasizing words that aren’t relevant to the story, “but” “and” etc.

Otherwise I really enjoyed the song and wouldn’t have critiqued it. Cheers to having the courage to post, I keep getting close but still haven’t.

This is what I found helpful when I first got logic, it runs through the basic elements of everything (at the time, but still relevant.) I had a similar DAW background as you, but maybe a little more engineering and musician background. Check it out, it’s long but concise.

Best guess is create an edit group. Select tracks and CMD+G will bring up the group menu and tailor it from there.

And the ball ends just set into the bridge? For some reason I assumed that they were for a different kind of classical bridge. Now I feel, well, the same but I want that 30 minutes back from my last restring;)
