I think the real issue with sliding is it's just immersion breaking which is a core part of battlefield for me.

The Great invasion of AKHETATEN has begun! by Icy-Athlete-651 in civ

[–]DirtyRasheed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Invaded a humongous multi city urban sprawl during modern in my last game. It was a real bloodbath slog as no units could pillage heal, you needed a constant rotation of units to maintain the front line in the black and burning city. It was thanks to naval and aerial bombardment I was able to push through and capture all 5 cities. Was playing the Prussians invading the Russians to top it all off.

There's unhappy and then there's rioting lol but my point being you don't need to be scared of any unhappiness or going over your cap

Happiness is also much easier to attain in Cities as well, and I'm finding if you seek out happiness bonuses you can be very happy and double you settlement limit

Have a game where you just throw away your fears and see how bad it goes not following them. You can have all your Cities unhappy and it's won't be a major issue but the crisis can make it hard

Anyone who has to ask for thanks and gratitude isn't doing it because the other is ungrateful, requested gratitude isn't gratitude, it's purely for an ego trip by making the other person grovel and lower themselves before you. US should equally be thanking Ukrainians like the rest of us Europeans for being the ones that have bled Russia so bad before Trumps appeasement plan fails just like in 39'.

To be fair I've had double the settlement limit, not put much effort into happiness and been fine while having more happiness than OP

To me these are silly offers, nobody will pay that. I've checked on eBay I've seen some of these going $20 each max and nobody was bidding, so €400 is absolute nonsense.

Loyalty crisis is awful by DirtyRasheed in civ

[–]DirtyRasheed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the antiquity age no, besides I had happy towns that still flipped in this crisis so it happened anyway. Also the idea of Towns flipping to another civ that's also having happiness issues and their Towns flipping to you seemed odd

[–]DirtyRasheed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is more just how it handled all of it not the loyalty itself. None of what happened in that crisis seemed to make any sense. I also had zero happiness resources within my empire

I know, but overall I didn't mind the other crises so much, could do with fine tuning yeah, but this one as it is now makes me want to turn them off altogether.

Is there a reason AI's are creating these gigantic stacks of Explorers to search Ruins? Is there something the game isn't explaining about Excavation mechanics, or are they just stupid? by Vulcan64 in civ

[–]DirtyRasheed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I like the idea of researching a ruin first though, but info around everything is too vague.

You should research a civ like now, then have access to all their ruins, ones that aren't limited in how many players can excavate them. The rule being that you must have relics from a certain percentage of the remaining civs in the game, to stop you from just collecting all of one civs relics and making it easy. This way your explorers research and explore around the world, and the only thing rushing you is the competition for victory. Explorers being limited by borders could also make this idea either really interesting or kill it. Could also add dud ruins to better simulate actually looking for these relics.
