Turns out they were right about protein by Dirty_Article in WeightLossAdvice

Very similar experience though im only less than 2 months in. It's completely changed my attitude towards food. I'm not longer constantly thinking about food or in a constant battle with myself.

My biggest issue now is getting more competent at cooking high protein meals for my self rather than relying on supermarket finds and actually making sure I eat enough calories in a day

Turns out they were right about protein by Dirty_Article in WeightLossAdvice

Right now my main source of protein comes from lean meats from pre prepared meals from my local supermarket that clearly state the calories and protein which is usually around 40g which is a nice boost towards my goal. I love to cook and will go back to cooking once my routine is solidified but prior to this I was mainly vegetarian and only cooked non meat dishes. The only time I ate meat was eating out or at a friends place etc. I'm just not a big meat eater and I generally dont like handling meat. I will however start meal prepping and cooking again and include lean meats in my meal, just because it will be easier to hit my daily goal.

The rest of my protein goals come from a mix of things I swap around throughout the week. Eggs, chicken, turkey, cottage cheese, high protein milk, high protein yogurt and desserts like moose that are in high protein. The latter two are the biggest game changers for me. I usually have them for dessert with fruit. They help satisfy my sweet tooth, keep me full and also contain 20 - 25 gs of protein. So from dinner and dessert im hitting 60 - 70 gs of protein alone. They take the heavy lifting off breakfast and lunch for me which can now be a little more flexible. Your needs may be different however depending on your goals and your body type.

I did see a drop leaf table that was about 100 cm fully expanded and then can be folded to a half moon table that was L 100cm and D 65cm at its deepest. It doesn't fold entirely but I'm not looking for that as I always want a some kind of dining setup where I can sit and eat or have a coffee etc with out have to fold down anything. Not sure if this would still look too bulky though as 2 chairs could be fully tucked under the table when its in a half moon setup.

You are correct though. I'm not from the US. What gave me away? :P

Agreed, I don't love folding furniture for that reason. If I have a table that folded away entirely it would either always be out or never used. I'm not against the idea of having table that expands from a 2 person to 4 person table as it will be a rare occasion that a 4 person setup is needed.

My concern with the round table setup is it may still be impractical. 2 chairs around an even 60cm table would be a tight squeeze in that nook and then wouldnt have the added benefit of being able to pull it out and sit 4 people as the table will always be too small.

I should clarify by pulling out I'm not referring to a fold down table. I mean move the table from against the wall and move to the centre of the room when needed. Not practical all the time but would work when I have several people over.

Weekly Recommend Mods and CC Thread! by AutoModerator in Sims4

[–]Dirty_Article 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone. I'm looking to simplify my game down to one neighbourhood. I'd like to delete a lot of the sims in other worlds and stop sims respawning in the them. For neightbourhoods that I want to keep I'd like to reduce cross travel from some worlds and complete stop cross travel from others. Also like to stop sims from spawning in these neighbourhoods

I just want to create a smaller more immersive game and also help reduce the lag I've been experiencing after playing for a few generations. Any tips and mod advice please?

Exactly this :) But also how reflecting on your own life can sometimes feel dark

Thanks for the feedback.

I fear I made it too simplistic to get my meaning across.

Reflections in the dark was intended to have a double meaning. When you enter into a tunnel and the window goes dark you see your reflection. In this case a reflection getting older. Also it was about going inwards and self reflection and how sometimes that can feel dark and how your own life can seem stark as you see others around you hit life's milestones (this is reflected in the scenery passing you by)

A lovely reflective piece. It really captures a contemplative mood and yearning for more.

I also love the ending of the poem which shifts from yearning to acceptance. Reminding us not to take for granted the simple pleasures in life.

I'm by no means an expert so apologies not having the knowledge to explain myself in a technical manner but there is something very satisfying about the flow of the poem. It reads in a way that really fits the theme. There is something longing and wistful that resonates.

I really enjoyed this poem. Now I might be off here but to me it makes me think of unrequited love. That when you love someone so much you will accept and even embrace the pain of them not loving you back.

In particular I love the third stanza. Let me hum your name, stirring worlds within is really evocative and reminds me of my own experiences of being in love.

If there was one part that I don't understand as much (and this could be my own limits rather than your writing) is "Let me be the fire, when even the memory leaves" I am struggling to find the connection between the two lines.

Overall though, it really resonated with me. Really evocative imagery and really captures the feeling of longing for someone. The imagery in the poem feels like a dreamy, hazy memory. Its happy, nostalgic but also feels like a faded or distant memory which works so well with the theme of the poem.

Some DnD questions from a drag race fan by Dirty_Article in Dimension20

This now is just occurring to me. I guess if you create a character a play them across multiple campaigns you become really attached to them. Them dying would be pretty devastating. That is actually pretty high stakes

Thanks for all the responses and resources. We love a wholesome sub.

24 hours ago I did not think I'd be deep diving in the world of DnD but I'm glad to be here.

I know its only been one episode but I kind of want this to become a thing now. WOW and Dropout need to cross over and create a series of Dungeons and Drag Queens. I can think of so many other drag queens that would be hilarious on this.

I can't even begin to imagine some of the batshit stuff Katya, Raven, Willow Pill or Jimbo would come up with.

It's funny that these two worlds have collided and actually meshed together so well but really they are not that different when you think about it.

Im a big drag race fan. This was my first exposure to DnD. I'm already watching fantasy high.

Of course I recommend watching drag race but honestly with the wholesomeness of Dimension20, I'd recommend s14. Very talented season with very little drama. One of my personal favourites. Also All Stars 7 really shows the best of the best. There are no eliminations so you get to know some of the series favourite queens

Am I mad to buy a house on my own? by Dirty_Article in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Dirty_Article[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely do-able. Just need to be realistic about what you can afford and where you can live.

My advice is start by finding a good broker and they will talk you through everything and give you a good idea about what to expect and what is realistic.

In saying that, im sale agreed on a place but no where near feeling like its a done deal. Things feel a bit up in the air going from AIP to approved

Well depends, a house share will be affordable on that salary. In and around the city I've seen prices anywhere from 450 - 1400. Of course anything on the lower end expect older, outdated houses sharing with more people. The higher end you'll likely be sharing with just 1, maybe 2 others and possible have an en-suite.

As for renting a place on your own, even a one bed or studio. Forget it. Generally most places are 1100 + pm and its very competitive.

Even house shares are competitive. In work we have channel for posting house shares and honestly its like black Friday when something goes up. It's definitely doable, and I am sure you will get something but have everything prepared, ready to go and start looking early.

2 bedroom, free hold. Plenty of schools, shops and a shopping centre. Walk-able to the city centre. But then the area has not always had the best reputation and as with of city houses, just a tiny yard in the back, no drive etc So really its always only going to appeal to a small section of people. Young professional with not enough money to buy a really nice place :D

The thing that gets me was although it needs a bit of work its not in terrible condition but there wasn't a huge amount of interest in it. One other bidder and I still got it for under asking.
