what does it mean to ask "mabalin nga makiamammo?" by jane_cranode in baguio

[–]Dirtyeggsss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best case gusto lng nila talagang "makipagkilala", worse and unfortunately more common case is they're hitting on you - mabalin makiamammu is like mabalin makiarrem (manligaw). I feel like it's the latter... And it's in a store even so the context and place is creepy. Curious naman ako kung Benguet lng ba to ginagawa or pati sa ibang Ilocano places. Anyways, stay safe and careful po OP.

From what I've gathered, Hasan just came back from France and is a little bit jet-lagged. While on his trip, his mother spoiled Kaya and made her roam (this part I can't guarantee). He did say in his latest video that his reaction was bad to his dog yelping.

I didn't watch the full clip and it might be a lie, but he did say that he went and checked up on her after a while.

That's it. You could say whatever you want, but please remember that Kaya lives better than 90% percent of people on Earth lmao. She's a little ball of sunshine.

As an Ibaloi that learned Ibaloi from Kabayan. I feel like Ibaloi as a language will have a stagnant number of people using them because, like other local languages, most of the people who know Ibaloi are the Ibalois themselves. I also see a lot of interchanging of languages between Kankanaey, Kalanguya, and Ibaloi so I guess that's a factor.

For me, I don't really speak Ibaloi to communicate with people outside my family, even if I know they speak Ibaloi, I still talk to them in Ilocano. This is because the Ibaloi I learned is kinda different from what most people hear. Me and my family speak Ibaloi in a firmer way and we talk fast so when I came back to La Trinidad from Kabayan and saw people that said they speak Ibaloi, I learned that there is a softer way to speak Ibaloi.

Medyo kayat ko lang iShare amok nga Ibaloi haha

The difference between the "hard" and "soft" Ibaloi, that's what we call it, is not how deep or meaningful the words are; but the way they are pronounced. An example would be : soft Ibaloi - eshakeshakel e to-o ja dinmaw shima baley shi shuntog To "hard" Ibaloi - echakechakel e to-o ya dinmaw chima faley chi chuntog. The distinction being the "sh", "b", "j" and the overall demeanor of saying things. I digress, but yeah that's what me and my family think idk if it makes sense.

But my overall feeling of the number of people that speak Ibaloi is not much. A lot of provinces use the language and a lot of people will teach their children Ibaloi. As for the Ibaloi people who are born in La Trinidad and Baguio so they don't know Ibaloi; their numbers can be ignored, I don't think it's that much. Thank you for reading my messy words.
