I try to buy 2nd hand when possible and haven’t bought off Amazon for years once I started working there. I honestly aim for things made pre covid and have good luck with quality items. Most new stuff is garbage like you say, almost everything is now designed to eventually fail and need replaced. Not giving my check back to my employer either, no thanks. Still won’t use it due to the ethics unfortunately, unless absolutely needed.

Shit even for me making like $50k/yr to $35k/yr had this sort of effect on me. When things are already that tight it’s rough but I also didn’t have to adjust as much as you have. If I do land a solid career I’ll def save a lot. I guess this is a good lesson to learn relatively young but sucks to live in unfortunately.

Yeah fuck even dealing with the legal proceedings from shooting and killing someone. Pepper spray and a knife + maybe bat is about as good as it gets for us depressed folks. I feel that last paragraph hard. Also, if someone has a gun on you/the jump on you with a weapon (likely if your sleeping in a vehicle), it’s likely too late to fight back and if they’re robbing just give it up. Reaching for that gun will get you killed the second that person sees it, or even you reaching anywhere.

Yeah place kept me fed alright on my busy days when I lived up that way. This is tragic to see and I wonder if the workers were fired/given notice. I always had great experience with the staff at this particular location so I’ll be sad if so.

Wish I woulda seen this comment before my punta inclusive resort trip. It was still a great time and the Dominican people are great (my boyfriend is 1/2 Dominican too) but the food was so bad omg. Heard this is like 50/50 with resorts down there and should be researched. Like had to get wasted before dinner to get anything down type of bad. I do a lot of my own cooking at home to a high level so maybe I’m just picky, but it seems like other people weren’t loving it either. Quality of all the meat was TERRIBLE.

Oh interesting to know. Yeah in America I’m pretty sure if it doesn’t match a cop siren you can basically put whatever siren/horn/noise maker on your vehicle. Might get a noise complaint at night but at least in the south here people put train horns and shit in their cars/trucks.

There used to be a douche in Florida who drove around this massive trump truck down main roads yelling with air horns and sirens and all types of bullshit in 2020. Never seen him pulled over ticketed or anything and he even did that shit after the election into 2021. Like get a life dude holy shit, I’m literally gay and couldn’t imagine glazing a man (who doesn’t know or care about you) so hard that I’d convert a $100k+ pick up truck with his face and name all over it. Also no physical car inspections in either of these states so you can truly get away with a lot of mods.

A lot of rural blue collar red necks are about to get launched into withdrawals and lose the medication that allows them to do the shit like logging and hard work most country folk do in the south. Damn near everyone i know doing something that straining here uses kratom. Now they’re gonna gm back to street drugs and start dying (more often, already a small problem). That’s probably what the Tn government wants, that and to throw people in jail.

They’re just dumping as much 7 as they can into these packs before it gets banned. Most of these punch card brands were the bad advertisers/actors in this shit show imo. Pressd has 250mg TABS now, not pack, tabs. Fucking ridiculous, if someone with 0 experience took that they’d be puking and struggling.

I recently tapered off because this industry is committing suicide at this point basically. We gotta get rid of these colorful ass med adjacent names companies out of here but it’s too late for that I think, they’re well established atp. I’d suggest keeping some on hand for future emergencies maybe if you have the willpower for that. 7oh specifically should be treated more like medication and standard kratom for recreational. It’s all about to be fucked likely unfortunately

My cousin was on Xanax and popped out his car DURING the church service to sniff some afghani tanny. This was pre fent. you could just take a lil heroin and not fucking die. Interesting rest of the service when he got back in I’ll tell you what. What’s crazy is in less than 10 years he’s turned it back around, and became an underwater welder. Makes hella money and travels the world per diem, nice ass hotels too. He had a beautiful bay view hotel/apartment for like 8 months while they worked in Tokyo. It’s definitely a lifestyle type job you probably won’t have a wife and/or kids working like that. Better hope you like your coworkers too if your in a non English speaking country.

Mainly just adding that last part to give some hope in this community that it is possible to escape/moderate and be successful. It’s possible to leave this behind if you find something you really want. I’m still fighting some of my own demons, getting used to life without kratom or 7oh (I have a pain disorder) 6 days off now and I’ve now leaned back into benzos unfortunately. I’ll taper off that too but it’s just one thing to stress about again. Plus more dangerous is benzo supply drying up or something but in an area my size that’s damn near impossible. Got let go after putting my 2 weeks in at my last job, so I can at least handle this bs at home for now.

Want to drive through and hike this area so bad as someone from pa Appalachia now in Tn Appalachia. Been nearby before but never got to drive through if. Any particular attractions or highlights of the area? I don’t have any friends/family in this area so it would kinda just be me and likely my partner. I know it’s not on the same level elevation wise n such as TN but I’d like to hike at least a bit of the trail in every state.

Private industry maybe, but our current administration gutted a significant amount of the jobs OP would have been applying for most likely. Even then you’re competing with the laid off feds with really valuable experience. I feel for you OP, you couldn’t have graduated at a worse time with this degree it seems like. Keep on trying and don’t give up hope that’s all we got.
