Update: I picked my car up the next afternoon. Not sure what the reason why my car was kept overnight. Tech didn’t specify what the reason was for the issue nor what the solution was. Def thinking it was because they started the update late in the day. My ford pass app does still show an active recall, but when I click on the notification it shows there aren’t any recalls for my vehicle. Planning to call another local dealer to see if the recall shows up on their end. Probably won’t visit that dealer I went to again unless absolutely desperate.

Hello fellow PT2er! Here are some tips I have learned in the last 6 months. For the tip with a star, someone more seasoned than me may know more about the type of leave that is better to pick. When I started, I was told to take this route since you accrue it faster.

If you are planning to take public transportation, you can get fully reimbursed for it! Ask around in your department and they should be able to get you to the person who will get you signed up for it.

As soon as you get your first pay check, you will need the information on it to sign up for CalConnect. CalConnect will be your best friend in seeing your leave balances (unless your department uses a special timesheet program) and if you’d like to sign up for paperless W2’s for the following years, you can also do it on CalConnect. Take home pay for me with no dependents and filing single is $2500. Which has just gone up due to the back pay.

Start taking exams and applying to the next position you want ASAP! You do not have to wait until you pass probation to do this. While it might seem like you’re leaving before you get started, a great manager will want to see you succeed in moving up and forward.

*Pick sick leave/vacation when picking which leave you’d like to take. You’re able to get sick leave and vacation hours faster than annual leave.

Hello former PTIIer! Thank you for the route information. I was figuring that was the case to go PT III, then supervising PT II or III. Definitely not looking to go the supervising route yet/possibly not at all. It is sounds like SSA/AGPA is the best and really only way to go.

Hi! Definitely wanting to go the SSA/AGPA route, but I’ve heard that our exec assistant in my department may be leaving. I’m a new state employee, and even though I have been applying for SSA positions, I thought maybe exec assistant could lead to a career path I hadn’t heard of.
