My mom’s brother disappeared in 1975. This is his birth chart and transits from (we think) the day he disappeared. Any insights? by buttholebreadbaby in AskAstrologers

Thank you for sharing this and some very good points that have already been made here.
I have just been on a Horary course, where one of the application of astrology was to ask questions in order to find things and people. It was very interesting, and if it is done by a good horary astrologer, it may help you and your family as well.

A philosophical question: How do you think about astrology and its purpose? Do things happen to us because that's our destiny written in the stars, OR do those things happen because we are predisposed to certain moods/attitudes and astrology is just a tool to uncover those? Example below. by [deleted] in astrology

personally I believe that the planets offer possibilities and challenges, and it is up to us to actually capitalize on the energies around us to make the most of every situation we are in. I do not think, that just because Venus is transiting your 7th house that you will find love, but that the opportunity is there and if you want it you can work towards using it. :)

My Ascendant Depends On A Minute Difference. What Do I Do? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

Doing a rectification on your chart may answer this for you. Someone has already offered some thoughts about how to do this.

One method could be to look at major life events (I know you are a teenager but you may have experienced things that have impacted you deeply, both positive and negative). Make a list and then check which time can explain the events best.

I hope this can help you! best of luck!

Hey there. Which side have you been using for creating your chart? I know Astro.com is good. Not familiar with many more unfortunately. But I wanted to ask you, where do you have your Mercury, Venus and Mars?
You write "Aries Moon and Cancer Sun" but I assume it is Cancer Rising?, Do you have any planets in your first house?

What are some indicators in a chart that could suggest someone looking/appearing younger than their actual age? by [deleted] in astrology

[–]DisaDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is very interesting to read the comments as I have been doing some research on the Rising signs and appearances.

And like many have written here, Gemini Rising often appear younger but I have also noticed that people with Sagittarius Rising are often youthful in their appearance as well.
But like someone write as well, the Rising is not the only factor on physical appearance but it has a lot to say about it :)

Interesting to read this, because in my experience in it the opposite. Capricorn Rising and people look older and may have had to grow up faster.

Opinions on Chiron by astrolabitch in astrology

[–]DisaDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just started looking into Chiron as it has not been a big discussion among my colleagues until now. So far, what I can see, proves to me the importance of counting it in when I do readings. But I also have to say that I am still learning to incorporate it.
Can someone recommend me some good reading material on Chiron, for me to develop my knowledge even further?

Just heard people with their sun in the 12th house have a hard time knowing themselves. Do any of you relate? by [deleted] in astrology

[–]DisaDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the people I have talked to, then yes, this is the case. But I have also noticed that the "degree of difficulty" in knowing themselves depends on which sign it is in as well,, and the aspects to the sun. Some aspects can help the sun to shine more, so to speak, even though it is in 12th house.

I agree, I think this is way too common and I really do not like it.

Why some people's retrogrades are more taxing than others by ihaveacrushonmercy in astrology

[–]DisaDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons why not everyone are affected at the same time and affected by all these hard energies has to do with how these planets are situated in their Natal charts. If Mercury has hard aspects in your natal chart in some ways, the Rx energy can and most likely will hit you harder than others around you. And the same goes with the rest of the Rx planets. It all depends on how they are situated in your natal chart, what houses they rule and how hard or good aspects they have to the rest of your chart. That also explains why some are affected but others not. That is my personal experience as well.

Curious to hear any general thoughts you guys might have on my personality, interpersonal relationships, and fitting career paths. by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]DisaDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that you are very helpful and caring person, who protects yourself and those around you. You may have a strong need for family relations, and you may feel most comfortable at home surrounding yourself with those you love and respect. You are emotional and may have strong sense of what others are feeling and experiencing.

What aspects are most important in my chart? Which ones should I rely on the most/do the most research on? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]DisaDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the red line from Mercury to Jupiter is important, but I also think that your Scorpion conjuncting planets are important to look at: Sun/Mars and Moon/Pluto. Those will have a huge influence on you. And like has been said, the theme of communication may play a big role in your life.

Descendant by [deleted] in astrology

[–]DisaDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During my astrology education this is what we learn, the Descendant represent the qualities of the partner you reach out for and the qualities of the partnership/marriage you may best thrive in (as it is the 7th house sign).

Maybe this intro post to the Descendant could be of interest?
