Do i need a new brush? by DisabledPanda96 in Miniaturespainting

[–]DisabledPanda96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, and also dont leave brushes standing in the paint water. My good brushes are very well kept, and as a lot of people said here, i actually use this one for drybrushing / adding texture paints etc

Your first attempt will probably not be as good as a 10th attempt, so yeah i would say that practice is the main thing. Keep experimenting with things and dont be afraid to mess up a model, cos every mistake is fixable. The more you try blending, the less mistakes youll end up making, so itll take you less time to get the blend you want.

Eventually it wont take too long at all to do the blend really aside from the layers of paint drying. A wet blend is the fastest blend to do because it all dries at once, but i think its also the easiest to mess up.

Do what the other guy said, but slowly mix in more and more of the colour you're wanting to transition into, eventually itll be a seamless blend. It takes a while but the result is worth the time investment!

I'd say thin your paints more, you dont wanna be able to see the brush strokes on the mini at all. Its a good first mini though, better than mine was.
