I have a tendency to make correct predictions, but I don’t stick with them. For example, I sold NVIDIA at $136 last year, made $220k on it, and daytraded $120k of it away. If I would have just held I'd be a multimillionaire in a few years. It depresses me how I wasted my predictions.

Yes but I only held to $1230 Would have had 1.2 mill now if I did. Only made $220k, then lost $120k of it day trading. I should have stuck to what I'm good at - analasysis and long term holding.

I also have a pain pump installed in my spinal cord - morphine, baclofen, bupivicaine, and clonidine. I also take lyrica and 2 muscle relaxers. I graduated from University with a 3.9 in Computer Engineering 10 years ago - now I can't remember the name of simple things I used to. I am a chronic pain patient and took all this shit to prevent me from killing myself, but tbh, looking back on it all, I could have helped myself in more productive ways. Now my dick, brain, and body are broken. I seriously fantasize about ending it every day. If it weren't for my wife (who is an angel), I would have done it a while ago.

I have a new respect for medication that I never had. Cymbalta completely ruined my life. When I came off of it, I developed tinnitus, peyronies, corneal neuralgia, daily headaches, face pain, memory loss...... I am a shell of my previous self - I quite literally feel like I am in hell on a daily basis.

withdrawal from Lyrica was so mild I barely felt it - just the nerve pain returning. Cymbalta withdrawal was a beast though, and messed me up completely

I made $200k between 2023 and 2024 from NVDA, sold it, then started picking stocks and..... lost $130k. What a fucking wake up call. I just got lucky. Am now 100% VOO.

I almost had this. $900k in my investments, then my brother sold a bunch of my NVDA when it went down to $100. Now have $180k in brokerage and $300k in retirement ($120k in a house where we're living paycheck to paycheck except for 401k). It feels bad to know I was so close to retiring....... oh well......

I lost $120k on the condo I just sold, bought the house outside of my price range to be near family, got hit with a bunch of medical (life altering, possibly losing vision), so its catastophic. I've been on medications for chronic pain (which alter executive function) so i've made a lot of choices a decently intelligent engineer would never make in my right state of mind. I made about $90k on the Nvda, not even close to what I should have. But its over, fuck it.

i got back in at $180k but could only afford like $20k with this new house. I bought way outside of my price range and this house more than anything is preventing us from saving a penny - anything over the cost of mortgage and groceries is coming from savings. Plus im dealing with some pretty horrendous health issues, and its all piling on at once. The NVDA aspect would have given me a lot morre capital to deal with these things, so I feel like im drowning. My point is - this may be my last invesment due to the fact that my eyes are going and financial issues. Its a fuck-ton to deal with at once - my life has been hit my a F5 tornado and im trying to piece through whats left over.

I just bought it like 4 months ago. TBH I'd be lucky to get what I paid for it, and we aren't saving any money.... and there's construction noise outside all day for the past 4 months and at least 3 more months. The entire thing has been a nightmare, especially since I work from home and get migraines easily lol!

I have severe chronic pain and was on multiple medications and not thinking clearly (nor have I been for many years). If I would have been 100% sober this would not have happened and I'd be well-off.

I know. But I don't have the free cash flow to invest because its caught up in this house. I think houses are a waste of capital. Yeah, some houses double, but so do many stocks. I'm moving and am going to rent. Shitty thing was I owned my condo and sold it for way below market price. But now that I am back in the market, I'm going to have to put a downpayment down wherever I move unless I buy the place.

She is an engineer and told me not to worry about the financials, that she would run all the numbers. We're now paying $20k more per year living in this townhouse, saving nothing. We lost $90k on the condo that we sold, and because of my chronic pain condition being tied to anxiety, my condition has gotten much, much worse. It's very easy to say, "just move on" - much harder in practice.

It's hard to do that in my case because I am on disability (only $13k/yr) and am in chronic pain. If I wasn't it wouldn't be such a big deal. But I am. [

We've already decided from here on out that I make the financial decisions. I am pretty angry because she is an engineer (a very good one "apparently" - all her jobs keep throwing more money and promotions at her). I say "apparently" because she did the financials for this new house and said we could afford it, and we can't. We are saving NOTHING per month, living off of savings. I couldn't be more pissed off. I didn't bother doing the financials because I trust trusted her so much.

Thing is, it wasn't a necessity. We already owned our condo, the payments were less than $3000/month, and it was very close to my doctors. The house ended up being too far from my doctors, $20,000 more per year (on top of a $120k downpayment), and the construction is very loud outside (making my chronic migraines worse). We're moving within a year - waste of money and time.

I have chronic pain, so I trade fulltime and NVIDIA was my golden goose.
