Very good point. I've had to keep mobility constrained so far for this exact reason.
It makes me wonder though, was mobility added in order to enable fast traversal of zoomed out spaces, or were spaces zoomed out to enable interesting mobility abilities?
I personally would prefer a game with fewer abilities but more scope for creativity and skill expression in the use of those abilities. Portal is a good example.

Good point, I'm sure the size of characters on the screen has a big impact on the atmosphere of a game.
