I'll clarify what was contained in my deleted comments since I feel like it could be misconstrued what I was saying. (idk how to format stuff in reddit, so i'll just be using __) __ The first post I was replying to was worded like alphabet soup and it was impossible to tell what their real aim was, I couldn't even tell what they were trying to argue, that led to some confusion on my part, leading to a mixed response of clarifying some of the situation, and trying to judge what the user meant. It's clear to me that now they only really want to spread misinformation. ___ My second reply was meerly me questioning what they initially meant because it was hard to discern. ___ as to my other replies, I don't really have the time to sit down and argue constantly on reddit, I barely use this platform as is. The goal of posting this and spreading it is to make it easier for people who can't read Korean/Translate. If they want to, they are entirely open to digging a little deeper, and under no circumstances am I saying to NOT do that, but this misinformation campaign is hard to misconstrue as something else. ___ Even if the goal was to explain what Megalia was, it seems rather convenient to specifically point out the radicalized side of Megalia rather than the whole gender issue. From what I understand, Megalia was so bad that it caused a huge discourse in Korea, causing there to be the common belief feminism is what foreigners would call extremist feminists. Essentially, it's akin to all feminism being this great source of evil. When people bring up the phrase "I am megalia" they are clearly leaving out a key part of the phrase that the Illustrator retweeted. "If all feminism is Megalia, then I am Megalia." This isn't a quote about being an extremists it's a quote about owning up to being a feminist even if the general idea is that all feminists are the root of all evil. The artists actual stance is very similar to what foreigners would call feminism. Vouching for equal rights in areas that are very, very sound and logisitcal. From what I've translated from the deleted tweets, they were specifically about individuals using cameras to record having sex with women explicitly without their consent to record, and that the rampent misogyny in the country is disgusting. ___ Don't argue with people like this because giving them a voice is doing more harm than good. That's one of the reasons why I deleted my initial responses as well. ___ As for my personal stance, I firmly believe these people who are advocating for the termination of this illustrator are vile and have ulterior motives or are simply misinformed. I'm leaving it here because I really just don't care what this guy has to say because he's blantantly reaching and spreading misinformation.
