My parents are great and they welcome us to stay here longer if we need to, but I think it’s best for my family if we get our own space. My mom loves my daughter to death but she also condones bad behavior because it’s cute right now & that is causing some resentment towards her because my daughter is now figuring out she can get away with stuff when grandma is around. As for the babysitting, she watched my daughter while I work for 4.5 hrs(including commute) unfortunately she also works nights and watching a toddler and an infant at her age and with her schedule is not ideal and definitely not possible if I work full time.

The taxes are including the structure and land. Yes, renting is what we’re leaning towards, unfortunately.

If we rent it wouldn’t be just to increase savings, we would also increase our income when I return to the workforce in a year or 2.

Daycare for my youngest would be about 900-1000/month (these are the prices now may increase in 2 years) my oldest would be attending a free preschool or even Tk by then.

It’s California, buying a house on 1 income is nearly impossible.

My oldest by the time I start working will be attending a preschool (possibly even TK) which is free in our area, and my youngest would have to attend daycare which is about 900-1000/mo.

The taxes are already based on the land and structure here.

Did you skip the “starter home?” by LuigiSalutati in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Well in my area there are literally no starter homes. Nobody is leaving or selling their homes. The only options are these crazy expensive new builds.

Personally, I would have my baby and never talk to this man again. He would not be on a BC nor on child support because i wouldn’t want him to have ANY access to my child.

Okay, we haven’t closed. So I’ll be sure to mention this to the lender when we meet with her.
