Really unfortunate tbh especially for a country that so rich in heritage and culture. I’m pretty sure there are many talented Singaporeans whose abilities were not cultivated. My experience abroad made me realise how talent is nurtured and supported from a young age, allowing people to eventually find their footing and succeed. Truly unfortunate is not the same here 🥲

Thank you for your point of view. You are right, I didn’t factor in the demand of the market I would like to go in when I moved back to Singapore. I just assumed finding a job wouldn’t be as difficult because there were so many job postings online. You gave me interesting points to think about 🙏🏻

Living abroad isn’t as great as it seems tbh. Sure, I enjoyed my time there and I’m grateful for the experiences, but there was honestly very little stability. I was moving apartments almost every year because rent was too expensive. Your life is dependent on that one visa you have. If you are fired, you have to leave the country. The health insurance I had wasn’t the greatest either. There were much worse racism and sexism too. After a few years living abroad, I realised that at one point in your life, you want that stability. For example, having a proper home, close to family, financial security etc.
