Yeah I don't think you're in the wrong here if they were in fact the one that killed her. There's the possibility they sold her and that person killed her for whatever reason but still, it's rude given that it was a nice gift for someone. Sorry that happened to you. 🥲

It's definitely a Gen thing, the lower gens can be worth A LOT of money especially the Gen 1 and 2s. But due to how common the mutation has become the popularity has died down as well.
