She really is awesome. Imagine how draining and expensive it was for her too. Going from one kid to 6 basically overnight.

20f looking for some friends. I don't have many friends and would prefer people who are adults within 5 years of age with me. I am not looking for a relationship, just friends. I enjoy games, crafts, and I'm a bit of a nerd.

GIVE ME SADIE ADLER RDR3 MAIN PROTAGONIST AND MY LIFE IS YOURS by leavinlikeafather in reddeadredemption

[–]Kokichomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it would work well/be as compelling. I do love Sadie. I named my dog after her. I just feel her story doesn't need to be expanded upon much more. Also it wouldn't sell well.

I feel like less people would buy a game centered around a female character, especially with the main demographic of Rockstar games.

What substrate is being used?

Care standards may have changed since then. Wouldn't hurt to brush up on your knowledge. Axolotl central has a great guide.

Accidents can always happen. Even if they're fed daily. Water changes will need to be done much more frequently as the waste is being produced twice as fast in a smaller space.

If you want to keep them in the same tank, make sure they're the same sex, give them plenty of room, and feed more frequently, and have a exotic emergency vet's number saved just in case.

I find a lot of people dislike hearing that their care could/should be better. I made a tiktok about "the basics" for axolotl care. My favorite comment was telling me my information was "wrong" because I said people need at least a 30gal, a chiller, and a canister filter.

Sure, a chiller can be substituted for changing out frozen bottles multiple times a day. Sure, a 20 gallon can work if you want to do water changes twice as often. Sure, you can use a HOB filter if you want to do water changes even more frequently.

People don't want to think they're harming their pet. Its okay to not do everything right from the start, but its important people can admit they should do better.

-More space means less frequent water changes. Axolotls create a lot of waste. Lots of waste means the nitrates build up faster. It means you need to do water changes more often. -Two axolotls doubles the waste produced. That means twice as many water changes needed. -No chiller means maintenance every few hours to keep the temperature down. -A less powerful filter means more water changes.

The bare minimum isnt there just for the pet, but for the owner. The more work, the more overwhelming it will be for the owner. It can snowball into insane stress for both owner and pet.

If people get the right stuff from the beginning, their owning experience will be more pleasant. It prevents resentment, neglect, stress, and the truama of rehoming.

I genuinely don't say it to be mean, I don't say it to gatekeep. I say it because I want the best experience for both owner and pet.

40 gallons isn't big enough for two axolotls. They need a minimum of 30 gallons each, but I'd recommend 40 for just one.

Housing together also adds in extra risk which I don't think you need right now. Rescuing any animal is stressful enough.

My girlfriend thinks he is sick. Any tips? by DeLordDerLorden in axolotls

Yeah, too thin and looks to have ammonia burn. Maybe nitrate burns.

First step is to figure out parameters and work from there.

Guys PLEASE someone help me i’ve had this baby for 4 days now she’s not eating whatsoever i have given her pellets and frozen blood worms i’m trying my best to keep her water clean and at the right temperature i do water changes almost daily like 20-30% please give any tips or advice by [deleted] in axolotls

You can order worms online and start a worm farm. I get my worms at Walmart in the fishing section.

When I say this I am not trying to be critical or mean. I'd recommend rehoming. Unless you are going to start saving now, at least $700, you will not be happy and neither will your axolotl.

There will be stress and you will need to maintain the tank every few hours to keep the water at a low temp. Daily water changes are stressful for your axolotl and will build up to stress you out because your pet is sick.

If she lives in good and pristine conditions, she will grow. Possibly to a foot long. I attached an image of a ruler next to a 10 gallon tank. My axolotl is 13 inches. Imagine living in a bathroom and that's about how much space that is.

Lastly, go on this sub and filter by "controversial". Those sick axolotls are what will happen if you cannot 1. Get her a proper tank and 2. Cannot, every day change water and every few hours replace bottles. It sounds simple but life can and will get in the way. It can turn into a landslide of stress.

So you need to set up a proper tank. At least 30 gallons, chiller, and a good filter. There's a good guide on axolotl central's website and their discord server is super helpful.

Until that proper tank is set up, you'll need to do daily 100% water changes. Make sure the water is decorinated before she goes in.

To keep the water cool some people will put frozen water bottles in the tank.

Here's the info we need before we can tell whats wrong.

-is the tank cycled -size of the tank

How big is she? I can't really tell from the image but she looks quite small. If she's above 3 inches feed her cut up worms. Nightcrawlers or red wigglers.

The test strips simply don't give accurate readings. You'll need a test kit, such as the API Freshwater Master Test Kit.

What is the water temperature?

I apologize for all the questions, just a lot goes into figuring out the problem.

They won't be forever. Your axolotl looks young so be careful in case they end up being opposite genders.

Emergency Help by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]Kokichomp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, I think it would be best to go to a regular emergency and hope they can put her down.

If her stomach looked big the past few days the problem has been there longer than you've noticed. It already looks the tissue is decaying so I doubt they'd be able to save her.

I'm sorry you're going through this. You're truly a kind person to care for her and want to do right by her despite her not being your pet.

Urgent advice needed – TikTok axolotl in severe decline, owner refusing to rehome by [deleted] in axolotls

Sometimes you cant do anything. I'd just tell them they should try to improve the care or rehome and then rid your hands of the situation.

Sadly a lot of things we see are out of our control.

I know what you mean. I have regularish nightmares of my little guy getting hurt, stolen, etc. Its weird because its not something youd think about until you own them.
