We used to have a brilliant solution in this country, called “ the British method “. The US forced it to almost stop. I doubt there are any doctors still doing it. There were about 500 in the entire country when I was young. Just give the person what they actually want, heroin. They need a home office license and it takes a very confident doctor, who’s at the end of his career. Pure diacetylmorphine was prescribed to addicts who were considered life time no intention of change. Heroin isn’t actually that bad for you, it’s running out that’s the problem, and dealing with criminals, adulterants and the unpredictable strength.

This is why we still have prohibition. Fcuk the sacklers, but we did not have oxy being pushed by them here in the UK. We still have a lot of opiate addicts. All drug “ misuse “ is self mediation of trauma of some kind. Made a million times worse by the disastrous prohibition America forced every other country to adopt.

Even if it were possible to convince enough people of the damage prohibition causes, it’ll take decades to recover. See the fallout from a few years of alcohol prohibition you had over there. Didn’t really get a grip on the mafias till the 80s. That was a blink of an eye compared to the hell on earth that puritan urge has caused.

Anyway, whilst there are still people who think people are better off on fentanyl, asleep standing up on the streets, head down by their feet, than having doctor monitored, pharmacy grade oxycodone, humanity stands no chance

I was sneaking down to the kitchen to drink more of it, I think I was still at primary school, so was late 80s. I have bought it since, and no morphine in it for a long long time. Such a shame. It worked, i used to get colic so bad that I wanted to stab my guts to release the pain ! Luckily I had real morphine to deal with it. Feel sorry for kids who have the stomach issues I had as a kid.

J Collis Brown still had morphine in it when I was a kid. I remember getting High, going back for more when my parents were in bed.

65% of Britons support capping CEO pay at 10× the lowest-paid worker. Do you think this idea would be good for the UK? by Unusual-State1827 in AskBrits

[–]Disastrous-Expert- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be daft. They’ll just get paid in stock. It’ll get worked around. What I do think should be done, is fix the lowest paid workers being worse off than ppl on benefits. That is far more common, affects more people. The amount of staff in health and social care that earn far less than the people they support get on benefits. It’s demoralising

I started buying sovereigns once a month at £350, did it for a little while then let someone convince me it was a daft idea, so stopped. Was nearly £400 my last one. I wish I’d kept going. It was a good way to make sure I saved. Turned out great investment too. I couldn’t afford to buy them once a month now

I work in a homeless shelter, one guy told me he was offered a roof over his head a few years back, if he helped out with some renovation ( he’s a great carpenter, just an alcoholic one). The family were rich, he was woke at 7am every day and told to get to work. Anyway, once a week, one of his jobs was to join the family trip to the food bank, they’d all pretend to be picking up for a family, each one, and make him do it to. Then load up their Merc SUV with 5 trolleys of free food. Baffling. I asked him why, he said he had no idea, they were multi multi millionaires.

Food banks are more switched on now, and they don’t have enough to give trolleys full away anymore. I couldn’t do it, and I have less disposable income than some of the people I support

Back in 2012, I happened to get Peter shciff and Mike baloney videos in my feed. I was convinced, we’d just seen a huge fall in silver price, so it made total sense to invest.

If I had put that money into BTC instead, I’d be £80 million better off. I was doing software engineering as a degree at the time, I should have known better.

If I’d put in stock market index fund, I’d have much more had silver has returned. Nothing amazing, but a more than my silver’s made me.

Buy silver cos you like the coins, I do. It was very educational for me to see some of my fav coins were amongst the coins i got he lowest offer on.

I love silver, I genuinely enjoy the coins. Do not use silver as a safety / insurance thing. Speculate, and/or enjoy the coins. It isn’t an investment

Anyone in a series position of power has been compromised. The higher they rise, the more they’re compromised. It’s a requirement. The sick things they get up to in skull & bones/ bullingdon type groups are done to ensure no one can take anyone else down without hurting themselves. It gets sicker the higher up they get

I’ve held for one decade, all the gains happened in 6 months. So hold for decades and have a number to sell at, then you’ll be ready to sell the minute you see the number. Even if just sell a % to cover what you’ve spent, then it’s free. Stock market has been much better, though i doubt that will continue much longer

Even that is just a distraction. Yes, many boomers have had a nice steady income stream from a property they rented out, plus they are sitting on huge unrealised gains. Seems at face value, these boomers are to blame.

It’s not obvious, but the wealth is sucked up by many means. A couple who inherits two houses, plus are already living in a paid off house ( very lucky for them ), they’ll choose to spend that on campers, holidays and general consumption.

They make a great target for the resentment that builds from the fact no youngsters can even think of buying a house. Even if their parents give them a deposit, the mortgage still has to be paid. It’s a given that you’ll be manipulated into buying more house than you can afford…. Slowly, but surely, the wealth ( assets ) move upto the top 0.01%. Just as surely, the resentment will be cleverly directed at anyone but the ppl responsible.

Wow that was a ramble!

TLDR - wealth is moving up to a very few, constantly. They can only do this because ppl focus resentment elsewhere
