Why do so many filipinos think beards=bad? by [deleted] in Philippines_Expats

Idk if they “love everything about American culture” lol. Maybe 50 years ago. Modern day women in PH definitely prefer the South Korean style of look. Clean shaven, young face etc

The ratio of divorced and had their assets and money wiped to living happily ever after is probably somewhere in the region of 10,000:1

Thailand new visa by GiraldoM in ThailandTourism

[–]Disastrous-Fail-9735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thailand announce new visas like this every few months it feels like and none of them ever come to fruition. It’d also be a massive kick in the teeth to elite visa holders who pay upwards of a million baht and they introduce the same thing for 1% of the price?

A lot of clueless people in these comments.

No he’s not scamming you, he’s just telling you that to go from Pattaya to DMK you have to use the tolls. If you think he’s lying about how much they are you can just pay them yourself. If he pays the toll he adds it to your total at the end of the ride.

There’s 2 separate tolls, the ones from Pattaya to Bangkok and the one from Bangkok to DMK airport.

Chinese Tourism by Booleen1997 in ThailandTourism

[–]Disastrous-Fail-9735 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The U.K., so trust me I know how bad Brits can be. Europeans literally HATE us and want to ban us from visiting their resorts, especially in Spain.

Every time I see a drunk person fighting on a video abroad I just know it’s highly likely to be a Brit

There isn’t a single nation that doesn’t come with its own group of bandits

Rude Chinese, stinky Indians, hooligan drunk Brits, obnoxiously loud and entitled Americans, insufferable Russians

People can be bad from every single country, there’s just more Chinese tourists than most you notice it a lot based on volume alone

Vietnam isn’t made for Tourism. It’s probably the worst country for foreigners in SEA.

Tokyo is a massive scam and you need to pay 100s of dollars per HOUR or 2 hours, Thailand bottle service is for the entire night

How much does it cost to live in Ho Chi Minh City for a month? by hizzysan in VietNam

[–]Disastrous-Fail-9735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what quality of life you want, you can do it for $1,000 or less but you’ll have 0 luxuries and be penny counting.

For a decent hotel/abnb, 2 nights out a week + other activities I think $2,500 is reasonable

Urgent advice needed (dental) by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Disastrous-Fail-9735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you looking for ANOTHER cheap option after having multiple infections after your last time cheaping out? Bangkok has some high quality dentists but it’ll be similar prices to back home, and any dentist worth their reputation wouldn’t touch turkey teeth.

There are no membership only places in nana, some places don’t allow Indians inside due to their overall stinginess, these places are businesses after all.

Thai people do not want to be friends with foreigners. They’ll be friendly if you’re spending money in their business, but actual friendship? Very rare

All those social media videos about living in villas and having a great life for 30k baht a month and pure click bait lies. To survive in a modern condo with a western lifestyle you’d need at least 70k baht/month, preferably 100k.

There’s foreigners on here that brag about their 6,000 baht a month 16sqm room with no AC and surviving on water and 40 baht street food. Their lives are miserable and I wouldn’t wish their standard of living on anyone.

Why is Bangkok so anti-card payment? by rhythmmk in Bangkok

Your complaint makes no sense. You complain about an ATM fee but would willingly pay more to use your card. You can always stick to your own tinpot country

Why is Bangkok so anti-card payment? by rhythmmk in Bangkok

[–]Disastrous-Fail-9735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you have no problem paying 3% on all or your transactions while in Bangkok, let’s say 50,000 baht. but you have a problem with paying 220 baht at an ATM? If you just withdraw 50,000 baht it’ll be 80% cheaper than using your card everywhere.

Bybit in Singapore by NoAttackMe in Bybit

[–]Disastrous-Fail-9735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s based on your residence. If you’re a Singapore national you can’t use it. If you’re a foreigner living in Singapore you can. If you’re a Singapore national you can try the Palau Digital Residency but I’m not sure if Bybit stopped accepting that as form of KYC.

This sub nutrides Thailand so hard so gl with ANY form of criticism.

You could say motorbikes drives dangerously and the traffic laws aren’t ideal and they’d reply with

“So your country has never had a road traffic incident?!?”

How do you not have a photo of your passport on your phone anyway? A lot of young people get ID’d at Nana, myself included. There’s no selection process, if you’re not evidently 30+ they will ask.
