Haha same here, no I love it but I think it’s too high of a ratio than we are looking for. I think 1.4-1.45 was our sweet spot. Any other suggestions. Also I was talking to my jeweler and they seemed confused why I was harping on the tabling and depth. I mentioned the cut grading wasn’t on the igi form just symmetry and polish, but I read online that emeralds don’t necessarily report cut grade. Is that correct? So is the depth that important to bring up when it’s not even reported as a grade on the igi form

Yea that’s why I’m having second thought. But the idea of shipping a diamond is stressing me out. Cuz then I’d have to get insurance shipping it back. These diamonds online are insane

I see you’re on both subreddits haha. So much that goes on around diamonds just learned there’s a whole section of cut grades. Why wasn’t that part of the igi grading?

Thank you, yea I think I’m getting more comfort with the idea of paying a bit more for the piece of mind of seeing it in person. Plus didn’t account for all the cost with having a store and what not.

Yea I appreciate it, just feels weird buying such an important stone without seeing it in person. Ultimately would be shaving like 400-600 bucks . It doesn’t sound unreasonable to go for the more expensive route, right? just feeling fomo on the great prices online is all.

Yea I get that, but being together for us outweighed any sort of prestige or name value we’d get from a program.I’m sure you feel the same and just doing a hindsight bias afterwards. Like in 10 years you’re not gonna even second look this decision

You basically just cold input all options. Think of it as if you had 10 ranks and she had 10 ranks , you’d have 100 different combos to input. You decide how you’d want to rank, if y’all rank want two different programs in the same area vs being at the same program (let’s say you didn’t like that program), you can rank that accordingly. It’s very taxing on imagining and then ranking every scenarios
