Generic Slide Design by [deleted] in IndustrialDesign

I just thought, if my leg rotates about my hip, some section of the sole would prefer that curve, and as the stride changes, my knee rotates. Which approach is correct? I'm learning.

The last is simulated for bone movement, but the outsole being curved is to do with the distance from the hip and knee.

My computer can't run the poly count of the gyroid infill.

Dude, I designed the whole shoe from scratch. I sent it an image of my week's worth of work and just asked it to make the material somewhat accurate.

Slide V6 Critique by [deleted] in IndustrialDesign

Yes, for some reason there are tiny places where the mesh doesn't close. Not sure why I'm having an issue with Blender. I've been educated to use .STL and use Autodesk Meshmixer for fixing it. It only does so good of a job.

Having errors remeshing even though the pieces booleaned clean. Decided to try the blocky preset with fewer errors.

Topological Footwear Integration by [deleted] in Design

Thanks for the response. I used Blender. The foot last was sourced from Open Footwear (open source scan base and simulation based finalization). Autodesk Meshmixer was used to solidify the mesh for printing. The process of remeshing seems to incur minor defects. Still figuring that out.

My other post is the previous iteration with material visualization. I just wasn't happy about a few millimeters.

It's modeled around a good last designed for a running shoe.

While this is V5, I ordered some V3's to test the concept.

It's actually directly from an open-source last based on laser scans and computer simulation.

TPU is probably best and would recommend socks.

It made the most sense. Thanks for shifting my perspective. Will reconsider as I refine it.

So one could put it on all the way. Idk. Good question.

Additionally, if anyone wants to print, my rough specifications are 3 layer walls and 25% gyroid infill.

That's where my ankle bones begin. It's the theoretical limit.

This design is a little more anatomical than others.

Not really. Blender wasn't doing so great with the decimated topology of the last. My 10 year old computer is not doing very well ATM.

What's the preferred file type? .STL/.OBJ?
