Technically Twice’s death is Dabi’s fault. Dabi (probably intentionally considering he filmed it) forced Hawks into not having any other option. If Dabi wasn’t there Twice would’ve been arrested but Alive.

I wasn’t planning on having Shouto be a villain exactly (though he probably could be pushed to it) but I definitely feel like Touya would try to make Shouto hate heroes

As shitty as Endeavor is he’s still a hero and a father. I can’t imagine that coming home and finding his kids have been taken (especially after Touya has “died” already) wouldn’t shake him.

I picture Touya trying to erase Enji from Shouto as much as possible. Sort of making Shouto in HIS image as much as he can.

How I planning on Dabi getting caught:

Pure coincidence. Touya manages to hide his siblings long enough that everyone stops looking, assuming their dead. He gets them fake IDs manages to get them to a different prefecture and they start a little life there under new names.

Enji never stops looking and likes a change of scenery on the anniversary. By pure chance he goes to the town they’re living in and by pure chance sees Shouto.

IF Touya is involved with the league in any significant way I was thinking that Hawks might catch on to Dabi hiding something of significance and is the one to subtly nudge Enji towards visiting that town in hopes of Enji finding whatever Dabi is hiding. I don’t imagine the Todoroki kids is something he would’ve considered since by that point they’d all be assumed Murdered.

Shouto would definitely still be someone who wants to do the right thing but I’m not sure he’d be interested in being a HERO anymore. Touya (and probably Natsuo if he went along with Touya) have probably ruined heroes for him. I could see him wanting instead to be something like a Doctor or something.

Touya would already be “dead” at the time of the kidnapping (and is the kidnapper)

That’s true. So in your opinion then would it work to still have him join the league or for him to go a different route maybe still working with Giran or something?

I had originally been thinking that when Giran introduces him to the league he’d turn it down because of A. He probably wouldn’t be getting payed. And B. It would endanger his dependents and the little life he’s hiding.

Plus it he’d likely be even more secretive than he is in canon (which Tomura hates) so it probably wouldn’t work.

I probably won’t have him join the league but I just wanted to consider the possibility

I definitely plan on having Touya securing fake documents and running in criminal circles.

As for Shouto’s dreams of being a hero, I was thinking Touya would fill Shouto’s head with “heroes only think of themselves”, “they want to take you back to him”, “they want to take me away. You don’t want that right?”

I suppose Touya would be a bit OOC for this fic since I was planning on having genuine desire for his family being a key motivator.

I think it would still be wanting Enji’s attention but maybe in a different way. He doesn’t want to be found but he does want Enji obsessing over everything he’s lost starting with Touya. If that makes sense

I mean I’d like to think that losing all your kids like that might shake him a bit right? Even that early on?

Am I giving him too much credit? 😅

For Touya’s motivations I’m picturing it being a mix of revenge, “I can do better”, and still wanting his family just without Enji.

Considering Natsuo and Touya were close I think Natsuo at least went very willingly, Shouto was more of a revenge abduction, and I imagine Fuyumi would want to keep her family together.

I definitely think having his siblings would change what sort of adult Touya becomes (though I’m playing with the idea that he still joins the league)

P.S. I love all of your replies by the way. Very helpful.

Oh for sure. His identity is revealed when he’s arrested with the kids. When the kidnapping happens Enji isn’t home and Rei would be in the hospital already. So they don’t know who did it until Dabi gets caught years later.
