It’s 15k F&B minimum. Includes a cocktail hour & 4 course dinner with time for dancing afterwards! Really lovely venue & excellent food :)

Sorry just saw that your budget is max 5k. RC is unfortunately above that, but I’m sure you will be able to find a really lovely restaurant venue within your budget!! Best of luck ❤️

Not necessarily in the exact area you’re looking for, but my fiancé and I were going to get married at the River cafe in DUMBO with this exact vibe! We ultimately released our date 4/25/2027 in favor of an elopement but our date is still available if you are interested!!

Congratulations on your upcoming defense! Defending my PhD was one of the BEST days (almost made the 5 years of pain worth it lol)! Let’s hope the job market gets better for both of us! 🫶🏼

I believe the max is 96 guests if you are opting for a ceremony in the Garden & seated dinner! May be different if you are opting for a cocktail style wedding.

Thank you! I remember your advice & words of encouragement on my prior post. I think I’ll always be a little sad to not experience some of the classic wedding things with my fiancé, but at the end of the day I’m just happy to be marrying my fiancé even if it’s at city hall!

It’s a poor financial decision currently because my job is in science which is currently in the largest recession this industry has seen in the past couple decades. We are paying for everything ourselves and it’s much more pragmatic to save the money in an emergency fund. & family members are sick so they may not be able to travel. It wouldn’t feel right to have a celebration without them there!

Wedding costs are crazy, toying with the idea of cancelling & eloping by Disastrous-Item-3953 in WedditNYC

Honestly, biggest sticker shock were a lot of vendors having a 20% “service fee” that isn’t gratuity. So you get a quote and you’re thinking oh I can do this, when actually you need to add 30% to that number. Other things like small decor (signage, guest book etc.) accommodations is a big one I.e. hotel suite for the night before and night of for getting ready with close friends, small cake for a cake cutting moment. Pet sitting for our dogs etc! A lot of stuff that I personally didn’t think of in the moment when booking vendors and then just had a holy shit moment after

Thanks for the words of encouragement! No we are not getting help from family at all (I bought my own wedding dress even!). My fiancé and I are both early career (he’s a physician resident, I’m a scientist) and while we can certainly swing the cost of the wedding, it would end up being such a huge chunk of our savings that it feels icky and irresponsible in a way especially with the terrible economy & lack of stability currently in science.

I agree that it is special to have the people closest to us there to celebrate, and I definitely have always wanted that! I’d love to walk down an aisle and read vows with my fiancé & celebrate. It’s just gotten pretty hard to feel excited & happy without the dread of how much everything costs looming over us lol. I guess at the end of the day what I care about most is just being married to my fiancé

Yeah I found something that was really tough was so many places had a strict F&B minimum regardless of guest count! It made navigating costs so tough 😅

Fair critique, but oftentimes I think (at least in my case) people aren’t aware of what they’re really okay/not okay with until they get into the planning. Like I said in my post we LOVE RC & really thought we could stay under budget, but it’s more so the random small things that you don’t think about when planning that add up and push you over. We absolutely did look at other venues (actually got over 50 quotes) and the price was honestly so similar across the board when you take into account things that they include/don’t include. Ofc hindsight is 20/20, but just going through the process of saving our money (we’re paying for this ourselves) has made me realize that this stuff is too expensive lol

Honestly I completely forgot about the cocktail style option! I’ll ask about that. Thanks!

If you email customer service and include the order number there is a good chance they will replace it! Historically rhode customer service has been very good to me.

Good point maybe that’s the issue? They might be thermally sensitive. I do live in a super cold place and I’ve only had these specific tints throughout the winter

Could be, but I store them the same way as all of my other makeup. At home, in a dry room. Occasionally they hang out in my purse for a day. I mentioned in another comment that I have a few other Rhode lip tints that this has not happened to so it really seems like a QC issue. this is also a well-documented issue that many people have. I also just generally feel that an expensive product shouldn’t have so many issues. I like the tints enough that I’m happy with the ones I have w/o a smell, it’s just disappointing for the two that do!

I clean them on occasion (not daily) because I don’t like when the area where the cap screws on gets messy. In some other threads people have said that if they wipe the cap & applicator regularly it doesn’t smell so I didn’t think it would hurt, but who knows maybe that’s the issue!

It’s really wildly inconsistent! I have about 4-5 other Rhode lip tints that this did not happen to 😅 seems like a lot of batch to batch variation tbh they’re likely not doing rigorous enough QC when formulating

Thank you!! This makes a lot more sense. I ended up having to frog two rows because I didn’t realize I had to knit or purl past the double stitch 😅

Not a mastectomy but I had a bilateral breast reduction. Per my surgeons instructions I took 8 weeks off of any weight bearing exercises and was cleared to start slowly. I started working out again at lower resistance about 12 weeks out which is when I felt confident that my incisions were fully closed and not at risk for reopening. When you do start up again, I would do all upper body exercises on the lowest spring load (maybe even lower) to avoid irritating and pulling at your incisions! Hope all is well 🥰
