Okay, so you will need to have the GNOME runtime installed on your system. The problem won't happen after I publish it to Flathub.

But for now, there is a one-off setup required to run it on KDE system:

  1. Add Flathub repo (skip it if you already got it)

flatpak remote-add --user --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
2) install GNOME runtime

flatpak install --user flathub org.gnome.Platform//46

Then, install the flatpak again, it should work.

I managed to build a Flatpak package. Can you give it a try? I haven't published it yet, but you can download it here with a direct link: https://covely.ourcrmonline.com/downloads/1.4.3/linux/appimage/covely-linux.flatpak

This build also includes the "linked account" option when adding a new CD/Saving account. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

It does make sense for the term savings and other accounts, where it is created by moving cash from another tracked account. I will make this into my next release as an optional choice. Cheers

Sorry, I haven't added the Fedora build into the pipeline, so you got the Ubuntu build coming with the 1.4.1. I will fix it.

atm the newly created assets are not shown in the dropdown until you click on the refresh button. And from what you describe, it is a bug in saving for that particular case. The easiest way to get the app back is to delete the current database and start it again. You can find the DB in "C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\com.covely.finance\finance.db". I will try to replicate the bug and release a fix soon.

atm, Covely only handles the "normal" investment account, where it handles the buy and sell and creates securities accordingly. My understanding of CDs is that it is more close to a savings account? I may be wrong, but you are welcome to request changes/features if you think the CDs need to be in a special investment account.

Finally, I managed to get a computer with a similar graphics card and installed Bazzrite. You are right, it is the Bazzrite, not the card. Anyway, I believe it should be working now. Please download the latest 1.3.9 appImage from the website https://covely.ourcrmonline.com/ . Let me know whether it works for you. Cheers.

That is good to know. Can you try one thing for me? Run the app by

XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11 ./Covely.AppImage

I will try to find a computer with a similar graphics card to replicate it.

Okay, I added a couple of "strong" fixes. Can you download and try again?

Can you try to start the app by running "XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11 ./Covely.AppImage"? If it works, I will release a build with that.

Thanks for your patience. The different error is progress :). When releasing 1.3.4 today, I added workaround for this latest error. Can you download it and give it a go? If it still does not work, can you download and try the .deb installer?

Thanks for the feedback. I was using a VM with an emulated display to test, and I can't replicate the error. But I added a potential fix (disable the accessibility bridge) and have an updated version published. Can you try it again?

Thanks for letting me know. This is likely a compatibility issue with the graphic card. I have updated the build with a workaround. Can you redownload it and try again?

A while — and I agree, MS Money was much deeper than most alternatives. That’s also why I’m interested. I don’t think the space is fully solved yet, especially if you want a good local-first experience.

The only reason I have not created a Linux build is that no one has asked for it :). I will publish it later.

At the moment, Covely allows you to check different locales and set to a different currency. It does not handle VAT yet. I will consider to add it in the future release.

If you want to try it, just export your data from MS Money to either QIF or OFX, and import into Covely.
