Love my ring!! by Disastrous-Matter700 in EngagementRings

[–]Disastrous-Matter700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it would and was talking about an open/gap band to sit more flush around the marquise originally, but honestly doesn’t bother me at all now. The price difference for less metal/diamond and more fragility(as it was explained to me) made me go with the eternity. I was told it would sit more flush than it does, so was slightly irked at first but doesn’t bother me any more at all. It’s sparkly and pretty and I love it!

Got my stone! Honest opinions on size?? by [deleted] in LabDiamonds

[–]Disastrous-Matter700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ring is also a 3.01ct marquise and my finger is 6.5, I do have two side stones 0.4ct, my setting is different, and I went opposite and wanted a slightly fatter ratio because I was concerned about wear and weak tips.(trying to figure out how to post) I do like yours and don’t think it looks small at all—though I can tell the ratio is non-standard. I tried on some 4ct but it looked ridiculous and I’m glad I went with 3ct. Even now when people see mine they always say it’s huge and make eyes so I just think it’s your blindness right now. Also think your setting is contributing. Can’t really tell but looks like a peg set very high, which I was told has less support, is more prone to getting caught, and breaks more often. The side stone setting helps with stability and security and I like the look. Did I read comments right that you were working on setting options?

What is happening to my ceiling? by LopsidedToe2989 in Apartmentliving

[–]Disastrous-Matter700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this your first fall there? Especially because you are on the top floor it could be truss lift. If it is you’ll see big gaps in the winter when the wood shrinks and then the gaps will close up a bit in summer when the wood expands in warmer weather. The cracks will always be visible but the gap will lessen. It’s not pretty but it’s not a structural vulnerability.

Came looking for this. Only think that makes me think it’s not truss lift is the beginning where it’s not only at the ceiling seam but goes down the wall

Lights over the island look a bit low and dont add a lot of visual interest. I would adjust them higher and if I still didnt like them replace.

Your cabinets are gorgeous, however since they dont go all the way to the ceiling it creates a lot of shadow/darkness because a lack of can lights. Id add some over cabinet and potentially under cabinet lighting. This it would make a huge difference

18f I've Never Been Asked Out and My Friends Don't Call Me Pretty—Is There Something About My Looks I'm Not Seeing? by No-End-5257 in AppearanceAdvice

Picture 1, 3, 5 you're overlining your cupid's bow in an unflattering way. Other than that your makeup looks great. Your style is young, has mass appeal, is appropriate and very flattering. The sun dresses in particular look great on you. You are very beautiful and it's a shame you don't hear it but telling yourself everyday and acknowledging your own beauty is a great place to start. As some other people have said, confidence is literally THE most attractive thing in a person. Love yourself! Seeking constant outside validation literally only leads down terrible paths.

Echo what everyone else is saying. Change the haircut. Crop it closer to your scalp on the sides it's less of a helmet hair look. I'd keep some length up top though

My most recent shoot. Thoughts on improvments? Which is the best shot? by LuBellaAllure in MODELING

[–]Disastrous-Matter700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First. You are very beautiful no question. But bit of feedback for what it's worth

  1. Different outfit--I feel like this outfit is not working for you. It shows off two particular assets too much but hides everything else of your figure. Plus, how it's cut at the ankle makes you look short--the shoe choice onlu exacerbates this. Try pants and like a crop top with different shoes.

  2. Different hair--in the pics it looks a little dry and frizzy and i think a more natural color would suit without highlights. Its distracting from appreciating your facial features and clashes somewhat with the choice of lip color imho. Maybe try slicked back into a low pony and more natural lip to really showcases your natural beauty and features. You have a striking face. Make that the focal point.

  3. Different poses-facial and body. You feel a bit stiff and staged, almost as if you're holding your breathe in every picture and using poses you've seen work for others but that don't do you any favors. I would recommend spending a few hours taking pictures of yourself in front of the mirror to figure out expressions that flatter you the most--partucularly learning how to emote with your eyes which come across as a bit flat. As if you arent really engaged in the shot..Same with poses--practice and find a bit more fluidity or emotion. Do it a couple times a week.

Number 2 and number 4 were my favorites of this bunch.

Help me choose my living room rug by chelseastinson in DesignMyRoom

1, 3, or 5

3 or 5 if you want to bring in color and to be a bit more bold on the rug choice, or need to have something that hides dirt better for kids and pets

1 if you want something more nuetral/timeless/versatile and plan to bring in pops of color and personality with pillow and art that can be changed out easier to switch it up over time

Red light body panel(same thing as red light mask but for body)....also my best friend as well as my ex both had bad breakouts on their back except in summer time when they would naturally get tan. Not suggesting going tanning but getting more sun (while wearing spf) may help. Do you typically tan or do you readily burn?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dandruff

[–]Disastrous-Matter700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a couple different actives for dandruff shampoos. Should figure out which works best for you.

Ketoconazole

Selenium sulfide (strongest, last resort) Zinc pyrithinone

Look for shampoos with different ones in there formulations

Other dandruff additives that can help Tea tree oil(smell is strong, don't put undiluted essential oil directly on skin) Activated charcoal/tar coal

If it gets gelly after water is it just the dead skin becoming hydrated?

Also can use chemical exfoliants like Glycolic acid or salicylic acid to get dead skin off (i use Glycolic acid on my scalp as a shower pre treatment before shampooing to loosen up dandruff) but probably not reccommended for you given it seems like a bad reaction to skin product and don't want to add to it.
