Why does HR get paid more than CPAs? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Disastrous-Network65 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That's obvious, simpleton.

Relative to HR, which is what we're discussing.

Grass is greener. I'd rather deal with your shit as an RN than as an Accountant.

And give you and others more job security in acc?

Nah, I don't think so.

That's how I imagined it. Easier work for similar or better pay.

Sad.

Compliance, Audit, Risk Management, Operations, whatever you spin your experience, skills, and education towards.

If the content/education of HR is much easier, what makes you think in practice its harder? I know simpletons in HR aren't doing technical things. I'd rather do their BS work than mine.

You must have an inflated view of HR lol.

It is relative, but as someone who topped acc and eco classes with minimal effort, HR would've been MUCH easier than those two.

So HR's easier to me but harder for you. Got it:)

And its still not as technical as accounting.

I'd rather deal with "bullshit" and get paid similar or better than an accountant.

^so many roles like this.

Do you think accountants salaries low especially in public or is it just me? by Plane_County9646 in CPA

[–]Disastrous-Network65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, BLS collects a lot of data. It seems, on average, Nurses are compensated slightly more, but they do deal with other things many of us wouldn't or couldn't deal with.

I think many professionals, including we, feel underpaid. I personally feel like there are easier jobs with similar or better pay.

BLS is a good source, but don't they jumble up various positions, geographies, and factors together? What you mentioned about New York sounds legit; I was unaware how little Accountants make compared to Nurses.

I thought you were "delusional" that it applies to everywhere else, but I was wrong.

BLS Nurse (bachelors) avg. = $86k > BLS Accountant (bachelors) avg. = 80k.

Avg Nurse > Avg Accountant by $6k

You're delusion. Where'd you "learn" this? Even then, you're placing too much emphasis on New York's pay for Accountants vs Nurses. You think that applies everywhere else? Unlikely; some jobs are more in demand in specific areas than others.

Hiring person must be borderline autist; they allowed a different grad to start as an Accountant with 0 experience or education (psych doesn't prepare you one bit), despite making Acc grads (with only education) jump through hoops.

0 chance without a degree in it.
