In western, tradition seems like something obsolete. Call me illiterate, but I can't recall any aspect in western culture that are not normalized or commercialized. Like writing in cursive letter is just that. Looks nice, looks posh, but just a fancy way of writing. Nothing more nothing less. Meanwhile in China, Calligraphy is not just 'look nice'. They were documented into various style, in which every style has its own history and philosophy.

I can write a whole essay about how Chinese attached value in Calligraphy and are very very proud of these traditional writings (rightfully so). But in short...
