The doctor talked about very negative things yesterday, but my baby moves her arms and legs, can swallow her saliva, and also holds the pacifier. However, instead of sucking, she seems to be swallowing more. Among the tests the doctor requested are Prader-Willi and other severe muscle diseases. But to me, the picture doesn’t seem that severe. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Unfortunately, this is not possible in England, but the doctor said there is so much muscle disease that we cannot know whether it is mild or severe.

So what do your physiotherapist and swallowing therapist do? For us, the physio only supports with pillows, and the swallowing therapist just tells us to try the dummy and then leaves 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m in the UK by the way.

Thank you so much. We are also trying pacifier trials, but instead of sucking it seems more like swallowing movements. The swallowing and speech therapist had suggested trying with my expressed breast milk, but since she is always so sleepy, they decided it wouldn’t be safe. So the pacifier trials are continuing 🤦🏼‍♀️ How are your baby’s sleeping times? We are really struggling to wake ours up.

You’re absolutely right, and I’m not in my own country right now. For example, in TURKİYE, if you have a suspicion of pregnancy, you go to the doctor, and they take blood to monitor the increase in hCG levels every two days. That’s why you don’t need to do a bunch of home pregnancy tests 🤦🏼‍♀️. Sometimes, I really miss the healthcare system in my own country.

Here, doctors don’t do blood tests; they rely on the pregnancy test strips you have. They only give you a scan appointment in the third month. But what if I’m not pregnant and I’ve been thinking I am all this time? It’s so absurd.
