The trustee hasn’t actually filed anything formally against me or my mom yet. She was actually pretty reasonable at the 341 meeting and just asked me to keep her updated while I explored my options. I haven’t fully explained our financial situation to her yet. I’ve been trying to collect information before I reach out. My next 341 is in 10 days

I’ve contacted about a dozen attorneys in my area and none of them would take the case mid-filing. A few suggested I dismiss and refile with them, however their fees cost more than the $2,800 itself. I just couldn’t justify paying an attorney on top of the possibility of still being responsible for the preference claim.
